How would you rewrite Inza?

Inza seems pretty boring so how would you rewrite her?

I've read the author's thoughts on her and believe the write-ups of her personality have been lacking.

Essentially, Inza believes that anyone would have done what she did if placed in her position. She believes that everyone is as guilty as she is and nobility is a lie and a fascade. Thus, she didn't do anything really wrong because everyone would have done the same thing. Heroism, honor, self-sacrafice, and the like are all pretty lies and displays that people put on to mask their true feelings and obscure their dark deeds.

So actual heroism offends her. Not only might it threaten whatever schemes or plans she has, but it threatens her entire world view. Everyone must be corrupt! She might go out of her way to expose hypocracy, or try to. This essentially makes her a variant corruptor trying to bring out the worst in heroes, only she expects heroes -when cornered or threatened- to revert to base desires and not do anything, well, heroic.

So how would you rewrite her to make that more obvious? As is she is very bland.

I wouldn't necessarily re-write her, just re-emphasise that. If I was in charge of writing her up for 4e I'd explain her like I just did.

Inza is really just presented as a bad seed, but she's one that doesn't think of herself as evil. Few villains do. She's really a sad figure trapped in a world of delusion.

If I was going to re-write her I'd play-up her seemingly two-dimensional nature/characterization and delusional worldview; as a shade she might literally see the world in shades of grey (as she sees everyone as dark shadows of themselves, grim twisted reflections of reality).

He said this:

Inza's curse : it is founded upon the notion that evil people do not do evil for its own sake. If they are not just mad, evil people act in ways that harm or destroy others out of a belief that can be summed up as: "You would do the same to me, given the chance." Inza pimped over her mom and her tribe based upon that notion. The trouble is, even a single selfless person, a single act not founded somehow upon self-interest, casts doubt--shadows, as it were--upon her basic belief that everyone is really selfish. Her curse is to be hyper-aware of good and kind acts in her realm.

The domain as a whole was designed to be sort of a reverse image of what Sithicus was under Soth. The Dark Powers taunted Soth with imperfect memories; he had to fight to be true to himself and his past. The last thing anyone can do in Sithicus now is escape themselves or forget their guilt.

I think she needs more of a theme. Most of her evil deeds seem random, it needs to be some coherence to gel more.

Her consistancy is that she believes you'd screw her over to, so she betrays you first. There doesn't really need to be a consistancy to selfishness as it's a crime of convenience and reaction. It's her motives that have consistancy.

She's not a perfect darklord and nowhere nearly as interesting as Soth, but she's different. I like her physical apperance (as a sentient shadow) and how she distorts the qualities of the land. And I enjoy her twisted psychologu which is much more interesting that some of the just-plain-evil lords.

i don't think shes as bad as other darklords but she truly is a round peg in a square hole in sithicus.

i would have preferred something more dragonlance/elven related then her, it seemed more plotted to get rid of the dragonlance influence of soth by putting a very ravenloftian vistani as a darklord, simply because there wasn't enough of them.

the best thing for her is to get her own domain, perhaps under ground of sithicus, and sithiccus to get an elven darklord. maybe somone as cool as the bad guy in hellboy 2
