| #1tylarSep 22, 2009 19:51:30 | Im about to begin converting these modules over to a 4th ed format. I plan to use the origional ones and keep the same prophecy as in " the night of the walking walking dead". I am thinking each adventure might be about 6-8 hours worth of gaming and skill challenges, with about 4-6 combats in each. Feast might take a little longer because its a little bigger, and i plan to reorganize the adventures into the following order to progress in a more level appropriate pace Walking Dead -> Touch of Death -> Feast -> Web of Illusion -> Ship of Horror -> From the Shadow -> Roots of Evil
I plan to mix in several other adventures along the way, based on how they get from one area to the next. Ive read numerous posts about running the conjunction, but im wondering if the 4ed crowd has anythign to add specific to 4e. Ive read the fraternity of shadows stuff about 4e and plan to use alot of the rule changes presented there, so im mostly asking about flavor and complications of running these using 4th rules and if anyones done this before.
Thanks Tylar |

Are you planning running a full-blown Ravenloft 4e campaign? With Domains of Dread being an aspect of the Shadowfell, I am kicking around some different ideas to keep the flavor of the old plane, but also keep it compatible with the new cosmology. As I'm not 100% my players will want to run a full Ravenloft campaign, I think I'll have them go in and out of the different DoDs, and as the campaign progresses in a few different ways, make the Grand Conjunction part of that. |
| #3The_JesterSep 24, 2009 19:59:20 | I'd aim for 7-9 or so encounters each with a couple major quests, so they can gain one level per adventure. But that's me. It's a nice long stretch so if they start mid-Heroic tier, say level 5 or 6, (when they'd best be suited to the small tasks of defending villiages and small nations) but it would end early Paragon when it makes more sense for them to be saving all of the Demiplane. |
| #4tylarSep 26, 2009 7:44:44 | Id like to start them out honestly at level 1, possibly roleplaying and adventuring in a different world and being sucked into ravenloft at about lvl 3-4, hitting 5th before starting Walking Dead. I plan to use ravenloft as a " real setting" as in, once there there, that is the world for all puposes. Im rolling around the idea of having them start in a generic world, like Greyhawk, and adventure a few lvls but then die doing something really heroic, and get pulled aside by the Raven Quenn during their passing and somehow get reborn in the Demiplan of Dread which is a pet project for her. It would be her that could give the PCs the starting of the quest, tasking them to stop whats coming for the sake of their own families back in their origional world. It would also give me a way to provide a bit of guidance as the story goes along in case they get off route .
Ideas? Tylar |
| #5poolboydeluxeSep 26, 2009 16:06:34 | Well, as I was working on some projects today, I decided on how I am going to fit the adventures into my particular campaign. Now, this works better with the new cosmology than it does with the classic "Demiplane of Dread" version. Basically, I have decided that the Grand Conjunction is being put into motion by Vecna in an attempt to bust up the Shadowfell, weakening The Raven Queen, as Vecna makes a play for the Death domain to add to his Undeath one he already has. The PCs will, for whatever reason (I haven't figured that part out), become the Raven Queen's unwitting (initially) agents, taking part in the six adventures. I'm still working out a lot of the details, but I've got high hopes. |
| #6lucas_longthornOct 03, 2009 9:09:58 | Are there any 4e conversions of these floating around? I for one would be *very* interested in seeing them -- especially From the Shadows//Roots of Evil. |
| #7poolboydeluxeOct 04, 2009 10:55:21 | I've got some conversions in the works for Night of the Walking dead, since that's the first one I'll be running. Of course, it's slated to be the fourth adventure I'm running in the campaign, so it's not my highest priority. I'll certainly share what I've come up with when I have it, should anyone be interested. |
| #8brianfromwaFeb 15, 2010 10:23:29 | Hey all, I'm new to the forums, but if you are still interested, I have completely revised and converted the Grand Conjunction series from 2nd Ed. to 4th Ed. I have run 5 of 6 of the adventures successfully, and am currently running the 6th. The converted adventures take the party of 5-ish from 1st through 21st level. I used the custom 4E Jester rules from the Fraternity of Shadows, and they've worked out quite well. The adventures were converted as follows:
I still haven't figured out how to mesh the GC with the 4th Ed "normal" world in adventure 6, but the party just started, so I figure I have some time. - Brian |

I basically turned the GC into a plan by Vecna to weaken the Raven Queen by ripping out a substantial portion of the Shadowfell, allowing him to kill her and take her portfolio. The way I had it mapped out, they'd be about done with the Paragon Tier when they realized what had happened, sending them into the Epic tier where they can deal with Vecna. |
| #11gothicprophetMar 25, 2010 13:37:31 | I would absolutely love to get my hands on these modules. My wife is planning on running some 4e 'Loft in the near future and these might be just the kind of thing she's looking for. |
