#1 riddling-reaver May 18, 2009 17:10:13	I know this is an ANCIENT topic, but I'm just wondering.... Am I the only one who drew a parallel with The Serpent that whispered secrets to Vecna, and The Voices that spoke to Strahd and Azalin?

I assume they were the dark powers?   They are different as The Serpant told Vecna how to get out of Ravenloft.  The Dark Powers could have simply booted out Vecna any time they chose. It is hard for me to see the relationship as The Serpant got Vecna out and with the other two he was luring them in.
#4 The_Jester Sep 01, 2009 12:55:28	I'd say they're different. We're unsure if "Death" was death, the Powers, a death god, or something else, but I doubt the Serpent would have hidden behind a dramatic name like that.  I also wouldn't want to tie such a Greyhawk-heavy element like the Serpent to a world-neutral character like Strahd.    That said if it works in your game...
