Witch Hunter as Ranger Paragon Path

Feb 05, 2009 13:22:53 I just read that the crossbow requires a minor load action, so the use of a ranger´s hunter quarry would eliminate the possibility of making a ranger witch hunter crossbowman as I had intended in a previous thread. Unless there is a feat that could solve that problem like the rapid reload in the 3.5 edition, hope there is.

Anyone knows something else on this matter.

Feb 05, 2009 17:00:18 Option 1) Don't move. Or use attacks with movement built-in. That way you can spend a minor to load and a minor to HQ.

Option 2) If you're making a PP just add a class feature that allows crossbows to be reloaded as part of the attack action (or allows you to load and use HQ in the same minor action).

Feb 10, 2009 16:07:28 Honestly, a crossbow rogue makes a better "Witch Hunter" than a ranger. And the best possible "Witch Hunter" by far is an Avenger-Rogue multiclass (though you will need the PHB 2 to do that).

Hey many many thanks Cyber-Dave is good to feel that I´m not the only one pondering on this subject. And I have been checking the Rogue, thanks to your suggestion, you were right it has some crossbow oriented powers, if only there would be a more monster hunter rogue hehehe anyway thanks brother.

Feb 26, 2009 10:13:26 I solved the crossbow reload issue, with a good magical item found in the Martial Power.

Swiftshot weapon, has some really good qualities among them you can reload as a free action. Nice!

As for Cyber-Dave suggestions I have been checking the Rogue crossbow powers and they are even better for the Witch Hunter except by one obstacule it doesn´t has any real witch hunter knowledge skill, Ex: Religion, Arcana, etc... of course there are feats for those things but lets see what we can come up with.

Thanks WotC for the Speed Loader feat of the PHB2 ... LoL

My best bet is that soon we´ll hear something on the witch hunter matter for the Ravenloft resurrection if any
