Hello all,

I've voulenteered to DM LFR events at ACEN this year. I will likely DM 3 events. (Not any of the specials. Not after my 12 hour experience.)

If any of you come, feel free to say hi. Or, you know, join in.

I may be giving out bonuses to some of the forumgoers who play in my sessions. (Need to see if there are Con rules against it.)

When I know what I'll be DMing, I'll be sure to post it here, provided I know before May.

EDIT: Wolfstar, you'll definitely receive bonuses. Gotta keep the VCLs happy with me. :P

EDIT2:
Location: Donald E Stevens Convention Center, Rosemont, IL

When: Early May (8-10)

For anyone else looking for this: It is in Rosemont, IL, May 8-10 2009.

(Always good to say when and where an event takes place)

Point. I figured the link would do that for me.

I'm lazy like that. :P

Were, not where?

And is that the former Rosemont Horizon, or whatever it is called now? Allstate Arena?

I'd love to be able to afford a visit back to Chi-Town, just so I could run over to Schaumburg and raid my storage locker....

Rosemont's a bigger city than that...

It's at the convention center, not the Horizon/AsA. (River Rd, not Manheim.)

Come on, you know you want to!

One week, everyone!

Finn, will you be running one of the SPECs?

I know I might, depending on the players.

If other people are running 'em, probably not. I'm thinking about running the Dale series, or a sequence of 1-1's.

I should just check the gaming schedule. I found the information that I was needing. Thanks

No problem.

I'll be running in the evening both Fri and Sat. Sat I'll be there all afternoon.

:D

Food will be rewarded with candy.

My brother and niece go to this con every year. When I heard that there is going to be LFR there I decided to go to. I was worried that it wasn’t well organized, but after seeing these posts I feel a lot better.

My questions are…
(1). Do I need to purchase event tickets for the LFR mods?

(2). Where are the LFR events located?

(3). Am I better off parking in the convention center lot or the one for the hotel?

Thanks,
Lary Wesley

PS I can I pass up a con that's less then 5 minutes from my house

1.) I don't believe so, but it is probably first-come-first-serve, so get there early to sign up for a slot.

2.) Downstairs at the Hotel in the tabletop gaming room. Your guide will have what you need. You'll get that when you pick up your pass. Your Brother will be able to help you with this.

3.) Convention center or the Blue Line Parking lot just down the block on River Rd., same side as the Hotel and center. Trust me, the hotel lot is a trap and a joke. Overpriced enough to make parking there - if you can- not cost efficient. Nothing's that far away that you can't walk/hobble.
I'm just annoyed because a friend of mine recently quit his job for the village of Rosemont (working the parking decks. I haven't paid there in the last three years. )

REMINDER TO ALL CONGOERS: you WILL need your pass to gain enterence to the gaming room(s) and all other Convention functions. I will remove your spleen as payment otherwise. Also, no grinding on the railings. (I wish I was joking. Someone actually did this a few years ago and broke most of the ones going downstairs.)

My Con Name is my screenname here, so I won't be too difficult to find, but if they do it using our real names, mine's Kevin, although I won't be answering to it. I'll be there in the afternoons most. I need to scour the market for Kamina's Sunglasses on Friday.
