First the Delegate program was killed, and now in a similarly worded letter:

Convention / Event Organizers:

We hope that your 2009 conventions and events were a success.   If you
are looking for information on convention support for 2010, please note
that the convention support program is on a temporary hiatus as it goes
through an overhaul of systems and procedures.  Wizards of the Coast
wants you to know that your conventions are important to us and we will
continue to offer assistance.  We know it takes a lot of organization,
time, money and heart to put your events together and, after the
overhaul, we hope the convention support program will continue to be a
viable option for you as you plan your 2010 events.

Please check back in early 2010 for more information on the new program.

If you have questions, please contact www.wizards.com/customerservice

Wizards of the Coast looks forward to helping make your 2010 convention
season a success!

I'd take it at face value - they're examining the program, seeing how/where they can tweak it, and will have something to announce in a couple months.

That said, I'll do a little poking around, but I wouldn't worry.

This is the first I've heard of this.  I submitted my paperwork back in late November for a convention taking place three weeks from now.  if we've already paid the $100 (or what have you) for the convention support program, I'd like to know what the resolution will be.

thanks for any update you can get

(and do you know when this change/notice was put up?  there's no time stamp I can figure out on the website).

[And thanks for catching this Dominick]

I submitted my paperwork for the biggest Convention for Florida.

(reply was cut oops)

I got the form letter and the web page came up when I googled.

I got a call today saying they are retooling the program. The convention owner is already helping me out, shes awesome.

I wonder how they will be retooling the procedure?

I am guessing the convention pack will no longer be the discounted WotC product (I always thought these may have been overstock).

I wonder what they will fill the void with? DM reward materials (like the module) or special tiles (like the ship tiles)? Three dragon ante and Inn fighting?

Need to wait until April. This is response I found out when I asked.

I just did some digging and found out that our convention support is temporarily suspended until April. Once we hit April however, things should be back to normal with plenty of support.
