| #1WotC_TulachJun 26, 2008 16:26:14 | The polls are open, and you decide the team for this year's championship. Article on the polls: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga/news/20080619a |
| #2String7rJul 07, 2008 9:27:18 | Good grief, Chris. Does no one proof your web-pages for even simple spelling errors before posting? What is a Stricker [sp?] in 4Ed? Whatever it is, Gardrin Stoneshaper is apparently 'it'. Second, you have three controllers for the new poll, but in the poll window, we are still voting for the Stricker. Third, the tiefling war wizard does not seem to have all her stat build points. Seems her build is only 18 pts and even then her Chr should be 12, not 10. With 22 pts, her build should be St:8 Cn:16 Dx:10 In:22 Ws:11 Ch:12. - assuming she put her 4th & 8th lvl bumps to Con and Int. |

| #4ShularJul 09, 2008 11:27:02 | Each week, we’ll be presenting you with choices for a specific role on the team. Choose the one you like; the winner of the poll makes the cut and joins the party. We’ll start with the leader poll on Friday June 20th, and polls will close by the next Thursday at noon PST. The next day, we’ll present you with the winner, and give you the next selection of characters to choose from. How do we vote? I don't see a link to any kind of polling page. Edit: Nevermind, found it. |
| #5cignus7Jul 14, 2008 12:53:18 | Quick question about the open. its 5 players with an alternate. Can the alternate be present at the table? if so, can they sub in on a death? |
| #6smerwin29Jul 14, 2008 12:57:47 | Only if the player dies. Not the character. ![]() |
| #7cignus7Jul 14, 2008 13:13:25 | lol nice... ok...soo.....there are 5 CHARACTERS and 1 dies, can the other sub in a character? can they at least be at the table and watch? hows that ![]() hehe |
| #8smerwin29Jul 14, 2008 13:33:19 | Greg Marks, zen master of the D&D Championship, can give better answers than I. If things run as they normally do, the alternates only get involved if one of the other players cannot play. So the 5 characters that start the adventure are all that can play. If one of those characters dies, no one can step in with another character. However, if something happens to the PLAYER but the character is still alive, the alternate might be able to step in and play that same character. So my post was only partly joking. :-) However, I may be incorrect, and new rules could be added. Shawn |
| #9String7rJul 16, 2008 21:51:47 | I have tried to vote for two days on the Defenders Poll that is up. Every time I hit "vote", I get a script error, web page not found. Anyone else having trouble? ...D |
| #10WotC_TulachJul 22, 2008 23:26:59 | It's been fixed, and polling has been extended until the end of this week for the defenders. |
| #11_what_ever_Aug 06, 2008 21:30:20 | Are the final open characters going to be posted? I thought they were going to be available last Friday... |
| #12_what_ever_Aug 07, 2008 6:58:12 | I guess my previous post was a little ambiguous. What I mean is when will the character sheets be available as it says on the web sight: "On Friday, August 1st, we’ll present you with the character sheets for all the characters, so you’ll be able to study up on their strengths and figure out how to shore up their weaknesses."Are the final open characters going to be posted? I know the final characters have been sent to the web guys to post (with a slight delay due to the error in the last characters voting). So as soon as they put them up you guys will have them. The judges already have the final characters so they will be able to help with questions at the table. |

Might I suggest you politely ask the web guys to hurry up and post them. They arn't going to do a lot of good if they don't make it up soon. |
| #15mike_fieldAug 08, 2008 15:06:12 | So when exactly can we expect to see the character sheets? Con starts in 5 days. Has any thought gone into creating the party say sometime in early spring so the group can be playtested against the adventure? Now I am new to 4th but a party consisting of a Warlord, 2 Fighters, a Multiclass Wizard/Warlock and a Wizard hmm should be interesting to say the least, well as long as there are no traps, undead or say alot of combat healing needed in the adventure . It will be interesting anyway. |
| #16linusAug 10, 2008 15:18:41 | Make that 3 days and still no sheets. FRICKIN WOW. I cant even start with the insults, as I dont know where to begin. |
| #17linusAug 11, 2008 0:40:26 | Tick Tock Tick Tock |
| #18cedar86Aug 11, 2008 22:12:41 | All in all, this shows a decided lack of respect both for the players and the volunteers who'll be DM'ing at the championship. It's now 10 days past due for when the character sheets were originally intended to be released, with the con starting in just 3 more. I'm both annoyed and disappointed (by the lack of information and Wizards utterly failing to meet what is a modest demand on the part of its players (read customer base), respectively). If they had stated that the character sheets would be released at the time of the championship (as it used to be in the old days) I might not be as annoyed as I am right now because I would have accepted it and planned accordingly. Instead, they made a promise to players and have failed to uphold it. My friends and I intended to run the characters through a couple of modules to try out their powers and get comfortable with them prior to sitting down at the Championship. Now that isn't possible unless Wizards comes through, and even then it will be at the last minute as we prepare to head out to Indianapolis, hardly an acceptable resolution. My only hope is that this is an isolated event, rather than the first of many such incidents on the part of Wizards. |
| #19gnorishAug 13, 2008 13:39:03 | I haven't checked all the character sheets for errors (I have better things to do) but be aware there is an error with the 9th Lvl Warlord. His AC is 2 points lower than it should be - I think they forgot to add the shield (remembered it on the Reflex though). I might be an idea to check through them (especially if you are running the game at GenCon). Peace out. |
