I just wanted to give a big thanks to all the judges who volunteered to run the tournament this year. Putting up with sleep deprived gamers who are playing competitively is no doubt more stressful than running a home game. All the judges (that I had) were competent and professional, even when we skipped their encounter using a nail of sealing ;) . Thanks for making the championships possible each year!

Also thanks to the people who responded to my "looking for team" post. We had never played together before, but you all brought your A game. Finishing the finals with 40 minutes left is quite an accomplishment even though we didn't place and get loots. If you're at GenCon next year I'd be honored to play with you again.

Congratulations to the teams that won! Looking forward to the championship again next year.

I'd like to thank the two DMs we had and the RPGA as well.

I remember the 2nd DMs name, but not the first. Krishna was the 2nd, and he did a great job putting up with my overtired group of players as our teamwork slowly broke down as the night went on (ended at 12:30am thanks to the evacuation of the ICC!). He just did a great job DMing overall, given the circumstances, way to go dude.

And a special thank you to the RPGA for listening to suggestions many of us gave last year regarding the standardization of map format. Some DMs used tiles, some had printed maps, etc.. last night which led to different setup times between encounters. This year every DM had a printed map and it was perfect!

The encounters were very tough and well designed. Best run D&D Open I've seen.

Seriously, huge shout out to the judges and organizers. The modules were well written, the encounters were challenging, and the story was engaging. It was a tight competition, and I think we all did incredible.

We may have come in first, but we did it by standing on the shoulders of giants. It was an awesome experience.

First, I would also like to add my thanks to the many judges who woke up at godawful hours to run the Championship. Without you guys, there would *be* no Championship and you guys and gals are awesome for doing so.

Second, I'd also like to thank the folks behind the scenes who don't get the credit as often as they should: the RPGA HQ staff, who put up with so much from so many people and still manage to remain cheery. They clean up afterwards and set up beforehand, and it is also they who create the maps and make sure everything is where it should be.

Third, my thanks to all the teams who participated--the Championship is meaningless without a large turnout of folks who do their best to win, and this year there were (I believe) 90+ teams who came to play. Making it to the finals with 450 competitors in the field is definately an accomplishment worth mentioning.

It was a pleasure.

Lastly, I have some private (hopefully constructive) criticisms that might help to improve the experience even further next year. I am hoping that someone who reads this is the right person to email about it (the head judge or organizer with knowledge of scoring, please). I'd rather not have people screaming here about stuff that I'd like to convey privately and politely.
