| #1WolfStar76Jan 20, 2009 11:44:27 | As per the subject line. The DDXP Convention Special is now running at 18th level and not 15th level as originally advertised. This means you'll get a few more toys to build your character with, and the monsters will get a little tougher to match. Enjoy! |
| #2sutroJan 20, 2009 16:36:37 | Are there any specific guidelines for character creation ready yet? |
| #3WolfStar76Jan 20, 2009 16:43:47 | It's expected that the next version of the CCG (due any day now) will have specific character creation rules. Personally, I'd start making a character following the rules for higher level characters from the CCG and DMG. If there's anything specific for the module it should be easy enough to adapt a "generic" character to whatever rules are given. Basically, I'd follow the rules in the DMG, and the player resources in the CCG. Keep in mind this isn't (AFAIK) an LFR module, so the FRPG backgrounds are likely to be out - BUT the Dragon Magazine backgrounds are (likely) in. ![]() |

Today's DDI newsletter pointed to http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga/news/20081112b which is the DDX announcement. This announcement earlier this week still described prizes to be given out for using "Character Creator" sheets for home built characters (at least the prominent links I tried pointed to the old version). But I noticed they edited the announcement and dropped the prize offer on this revised page and now link to this version. So why didn't they also edit in the change from level 15 to level 18? Well, it only took them two months to catch the last error. So I guess this should be fixed about six weeks after the con, right? |
| #5WolfStar76Jan 21, 2009 6:04:17 | I wish the would get all their $%&* in one sack. As I said before - I suspect the problem is that WotC is working off one set of internal documents, but since they're not the ones really running the show their information has grown a little stale. Since you seem passionate about this, however, I'd welcome you to contact Customer Service (http://wizards.custhelp.com) about the errors (include the links you've used here) and see if you can't generate a little change. ![]() I'll try to shoot this up the chain to the contacts I have, though Bernie Stokes (to whom I "report") has been out ill for the last week or so. I'll see if his backup can help. ![]() |
| #6ibixatJan 21, 2009 8:04:13 | My only problem with this is trying to figure out just what character I want to try out at 18th. So I guess I really have no problem with this =) |
| #7WolfStar76Jan 21, 2009 10:37:13 | I'm hoping the Character Builder releases before the show so I can make one or each role to be ready. I'll probably make one that's just an advanced version of my LFR main, but the others will be whatever catches my fancy. ![]() |

| #922_Over_7Jan 22, 2009 9:34:00 | Is there an official source for this change? I didn't find it on the RPGA website, might have missed it. It also doesn't show up on the event description on Wavester's website. |

| #11WavesterJan 22, 2009 20:11:23 | It is for 18th level - I will try to get the website updated and something should be going up on the Wotc website as well. I did not know this change until a few days ago. So rolling with it as we go. |
