So. . . I was supposed to troll around and find a 4th (and/or 5th and 6th) player for CORE 1-1 to join my friends and I on Fantasy Grounds tonight.

Alas, work reared it's ugly head, and I never got around to it.

So. . . anyone out there got nothing to do tonight starting around 9pm until whenever we get done?

I offer TeamSpeak, and even have ONE spare key for FGII (which would have to be uninstalled after play, since it's my 2nd key). Beer, pretzels, and other goodies are your own to supply.

PM me or contact me on AIM if you'd like to fill one of my available seats, and I'll get you the information you'll need to connect.

Full disclosure - My friends tend to use "R" rated language, and this will be their first 4E experience. The game will likely run a little long, and might even need a 2nd session to finish up.

Does this mean you'd be interested in future sessions?

You've got my e-mail if so.

You still looking for additional players?

And would this be a regular every Friday thing, or less often?

And what kind of PC would you need to fill out the roster?

And what time zone?

We're still hashing out schedules - for me as GM, at least, I can't forsee running more than every-other week.

We gave it a test-run last night, and even with a few adjustments made, a 3-person party with two strikers and a leader didn't get very far in the first combat. They could really use a Defender (though the player of the Warlock has a Fighter built and siad he'd likely switch for a future session).

Times are Eastern, if you like, give me your e-mail address via PM and I'll get you a link to my personal forum and you can introduce yourself to the rest of my group.

One of my players hopes to trade DM duties with me from time to time, so hopefully my Warlock can get in on the action occasionally as well.

PM sent, along with some additional information.

And, while I didn't remember to mention it in my PM, every other week is fine by me. Leaves me time to handle a SWSE DoD game that I appear to be slated to DM on Friday nights, if we can get the last few issues resolved.

Damn, I'd love to get into this, but I don't have Fantasy Grounds.

I'd like to thank everyone for their replies. I only wish I'd found the time and remembrance to post earlier in the week.

I've received a few PMs from interested parties, and passed the info along to my group of players to get their opinion on people as well. So, thanks all for replying.

Perhaps if this goes well we can forge a "RPGA FG" group of some sort to tide us all over until the Game Table is live.

I'm in the process of converting my 2nd module to FG as of this morning and it adapts to 4E quite readily. I think it takes about 2 hours to convert a module on average - likely less if I'd had the time thus far to use the parsers to import rules items, but alas, time is becoming a precious commodity for me.

The group I DM for on FG suggested the same thing (looking to set up a RPGA FG group). If you're interested in combining forces, we have a Yahoo Group at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/RPGA_Group/

For any RPGA DM's out there, I'm exporting the modules I have converted to FG format, so I may be able to save you some time there. For players, we run every other week...at least until we get another Herald to join our group.

And we have used the parsers which makes module prep time a heck of a lot easier.

I'll post that to my group. RPGA FGers unite!

And I'd love to mind-meld with you on how to get the parsers working. I think I understand the process, but it almost strikes me as more work than simply entering the bits and pieces I need as I need them. ~shrug~

Just curious if its worth it at this point.

Curious - what does FG offer over Maptool (or openrpg)?

I know that OpenRPG is a pain to work with, since I could never get it to work on my computers...

Never tried the others.

I have tried Kloogewerks, but not for long, since the GM for that campaign had to move...

It's purely subjective, but FG is the only one I've ever tried that is intuitive.

I'm able to dive in, as the GM, start creating/converting a module, and I've never had to open a manual, check the forums, etc.

OpenRPG and MapTool both leave me staring at the screen wondering how/where to start as the GM. They have their fans, those fans are likely rolling their eyes at me thinking I'm silly for not seeing how to start. ~shrug~

I could almost certainly figure out any of them if I spent time tinkering with them, reading the forums, etc - but I like to be able to just dive right in.

Again, purely subjective, but that's what sold me on FG. Since I had a preview of the D&Di Game Table at GenCon I can say it also looks very "dive right in" intuitive, so I'm looking forward to it as well.

Cool, thanks - I actually agree with you on OpenRPG and I ran a game on it for a couple years. I've recently started using Maptool and I've been _very_ impressed how good it is.

I suspect that FG contains a lot more predone stuff, which by its nature makes it easier. I don't know for sure cause I downloaded a demo and didn't make it through making a character before I determined that I couldn't get my players to spend money for it and moved on, but I've always wanted to actually _play_ a game to see what I'm missing.

Can I join in on one of these games? I'm thinking of starting an online group using Fantasy Grounds myself, but don't have much (any) experience using that VTT, so I'd like to see how it runs in an actual gaming session.

I have a 4th level Eladrin Shielding Swordmage as my main, but I can play any character you guys would need.

I owe everyone some e-mails about my group, and I've actually been lurking in Talwynor's group as well. In fact it looks like he's running CORE1-2 next Friday.

We are running on Friday. It looks like we are full for the first session, but you're welcome to lurk. In fact, we're starting to get additional players...if they'res enough interest, I can run a second session on Sunday. Oh - and we had a slight change and are running Moon1-1 instead this week.

Our group is at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/RPGA_Group/ and the goal is to recruit enough players and DM's so that we can run multiple sessions on a weekly basis.

If anyone is interested, we are definitely running the Weekend in the Realms Event and there is still space available!
