| #1robbgobbJul 01, 2008 23:39:44 | Hello, I played the Qualifier at Origins and it was a pain. Won't get into details but it on Friday Night. Was chaotic to me and I was never offered anything or told that the prize for playing had run out. We were rushed to get to the table and I believe multiple things were left undiscussed to get it going. The person in charge had to repeat one thing because said he was overly excited that had 5 people quickly and together to get started. My judge did a great job with me and my team and his assisant judge was extremely helpful on spotting mistakes. My team (a friend and 3 strangers who said had not played since 1st edition I believe) took on the challenge of being told we would not do well. I did ask for more information and we were there were prizes for qualifying. We were told also not to worry about it since we would not qualify. The last day of Origins had me and a friend playing a 4th edition game by Galen Ciscell and my friend went to play a delve after. They were shutting down so he left. We say the assistant judge later and was told we qualified and that we missed our prizes. I would love to know who to contact about that and at minimum find out what I missed out on by being told had no chance and not knowing to check. Robb |

The prize is qualifying for the semi-finals at Gencon while everybody else has to grind through the entry rounds and hope. If you did qualify then Greg mark will contact the team lead via email about information about Gencon. |

I was curious if that was something sent or given out there. This is the official site so I would hope that it was good information. No rumor was spread but I am stating what I read on the official RPGA website about the championship qualifiers. |
| #7WavesterJul 04, 2008 22:21:42 | Okay so we're talking participation items not prizes for winning it (which is another beast). Those should have went out at the table. If they did not then it is not something I can fix at this point (I can say I'm sorry it did not happen but I have no way of fixing it at this point). |

The judges and person who seated the 5 of us said that there would be some small prize for the people who qualified though would probably just be a mini or similiar prize. I was trying to find out what that would have been. Who should I contact about the prize for participation? I showed up about 5 minutes before the slot was to take place and my friend was already there letting me know where to go. We get there and rushed to the table since was 5 of us and things were hectic from then on since I was the only one with a Player's Handbook and 3 had not played since 1st edition. I would like to know what the card was and if there is any way to do anything about it. I am not blaming anyone. Frustration about Character sheets (heard much about that) and trying to get a full table on time made us missing some of the information normally given out understandable. The guy in charge was stopped a couple of times to let us know more about what was going on at different times and the DMs would remember at times something else. I thought it was run well for how chaotic the situation was but I did ask about what we got for playing and that was when we was told about the players who qualified would get something. If I had time to find a connection (was busy with multiple things like wife, nephew and schedules) to the internet then I would have done this at Origins. |

Dave I "volunteered" to be a fifth for a Qualifier table, I don't remember a team name or a team lead....but I'd be available as a replacement player if we "won" but I haven't heard of who won at Origins...(Just for curiosity sake if nothing else) Any news on who qualified...was it just one team or were there mulitples?... | #10stexeJul 24, 2008 9:34:15 | Anyone know what the D&D rewards card contains? I'll probably be getting one this Sunday, but I'm curious if it will be the same or a different one and what is on it. Is it for 4E campaigns like Living Forgotten Realms or what? Thanks. =) Update: Ok, I found out what the card is that I'm getting, not sure if other places have the same one but it is supposedly a Shadar-Kai creation card. It's nice, but I really wish it was ANY other race creation card as Shadar-Kai are the worst there (+2 DEX, +2 INT isn't really good for any class at the moment). Oh well, still nice to have the option. |
