About Us
Our mission is to find others like us who share the same passions & desires of games in the Grand River/ Brantford area. Our goal is to unite Roleplayers with Game Masters (Storytellers), Board Gamers with players, & Card Gamers with card players. We currently have various groups united with "The Grand River Gamers Society". Our membership is growing & we have introduced many players with suitable groups. "The Grand River Gamers Society" is currently developing & has faithful members gathering for various games. Since we had started in the late Summer of 2008, our membership enrollment has grown to 20 players. A huge feat for a small organization of gamers.
Guidelines of Respect
Because we are an organization representing a diverse collection of roleplaying games & players, we are also aware of the various playing styles and Player/Game Master qualifications. We understand that not all Players/ Game Masters wish to play certain types or styles of games, or with certain player experience levels (i.e, beginner level players or hack-n-slash campaigns). However,"The Grand River Gamers Society" does not restrict any player from experiencing any game in play. Within reason, of coarse. This includes "advanced" styles of RPG's with more talented gamers. We believe that one or two beginner players may learn from a majority of experienced players & Game Masters. We believe that, denying these beginner players from a chance to grow & thrive within a well balanced campaign may hinder the player's development & respect for the advanced game & its players. And, it is because of this, "The Grand River Gamers Society" does not condone or tolerate ageism, racism, religious persecution, or sexual discrimination within our groups.
Basic Rules
We also have developed certain rules & guidelines for our members to adhere by so that all games can be enjoyed by all.
-If any member misbehaves or acts inappropriately during any game, the player maybe requested to leave for the game day. We do not tolerate players taking the fun out of any game.
-We do not allow alcoholic beverages consumption or illegal drug use during any game day. "The Grand River Gamers Society" has many members of various ages & we do not wish to condone our members to play within any inebriated settings or surroundings.
-We also host regular "Food Donation" drives during the game day. The "Food Donation" is a fundraiser campaign for shared meals during the game day. We ask our members to contribute any monetary sum towards the purchase of food for all gamers to enjoy. "The Grand River Gamers Society" is aware of certain financial restraints which may hinder a member from contributing. Those players however may wish to assist the "Food Donation" in other ways. Example; some members bake or bring food from home to share. Others contribute by cleaning or organizing the gaming establishment. Whatever ways work best for the member.
What Its All About
[color=Black]All in all, "The Grand River Gamers Society" is a bunch of people looking to have fun. Our members love to get together and relax with a good game at play. We are not here to follow strict rules or dictate people how to play. We're in it to play in a safe and fun atmosphere & loose ourselves in a moment together. We all need a reason to escape, so why not play a game & have fun!
