| #1CHeardJun 13, 2009 15:41:32 | So the character creation guidelines for the Ultimate Dungeon Delve: The Lunar Awakening are up now. I'm planning to attend Origins and want to play in this event. But I'm coming alone, and won't have four friend with me. Will there be mustering/team-building at the con for players who want to do the Ultimate Dungeon Delve but don't travel in packs of five? |

I would expect that - like the "normal" Delve it shouldn't be hard to get a group of people who want to work together on the Ultimate Delve - however I personally doubt we'll have an official "Marshall" area - though I could be EASILY wrong. I'll try to poke The Bald Man and see if he can provide any official insights. ![]() |

So we'll have a person working on getting teams together and if we have odd numbers will be looking for wandering released judges or homeless to make sure we get even tables sent out. This is the first time we are doing an event of this type so you'll have to bear with us as we work out some kinks. |

So would you suggest Dave that the Judges have some characters made to ultimate Delve specs "just in case" =) |
| #5WavesterJun 15, 2009 9:43:18 | Nope - judges should not be giving people characters - their job is to smash those characters and take candy from the children of those smashed characters. HQ will have some bland generic ones ready but if you really want to advance through this type of event then you need to have a character or concept done up, prep'd in your head as to what they do and can contribute, and bring your 'A' game. |

Oh no no I didn't mean the Delve Judges, I meant the possibly released ones you'd fill a group with if needed. Of course the Delve Judges should be merciless! |

I think there was a miscommunication here. ibixat - if you wanted to bring an Ultimate Delve character (or several) on the off chance that you might get released and told to help fill a table, it certainly couldn't hurt. Just don't do so with the expectation that upon being released you can request to fill tables and automatically get seated ;) . It's just as likely we'll make you judge the (normal) delve, or fill/run a "normal" LFR table instead - assuming we don't find other tasks for you like helping me count tickets, run errands, or fan the Data Entry people with palm fronds. ![]() |
| #8ibixatJun 15, 2009 15:12:52 | I think there was a miscommunication here. I can do most of that but the fanning, I get bad cases of tennis elbow from palm frond fanning, it's just not a good thing. Plus I tend to fan too quickly and tire out after about 37 seconds. I hear they have medication for that though. |
| #9David72Jun 16, 2009 16:08:28 | How is the Ultimate Delve actually going to be run...I know you have to get through 6 - 45 min sessions, that is 4.5 hours of play. Does that mean you have to register for it like you would for a normal adventure? Or is it run like the normal delve, where you just wait in line until a table is freed up? Inquiring minds want to know. |
| #10WavesterJun 17, 2009 7:24:13 | Register for it like a normal event. It runs during a normal 'slot' of the show like any other event. |
| #11sutroJun 20, 2009 9:58:45 | Speaking of team-building, I'm gonna be coming up to Origins without a team; I'd love to get into a pre-made crew for the Delve (so we can sort out stuff like tribal feats, etc.) I tend to be best at defender roles; shoot me a PM if you need a hand. I've done delves at the big cons for the past couple of years so I have a pretty good idea what's required. -Sutro |
