Has anyone heard anything about a 2009 Weekend in the Forgotten Realms? I don't need anything like specific dates, simply whether or not there is going to be one?

I hope so. My only beef was that I was so busy running games I didn't get to play in it.

I would speculate that, since we're getting THREE game days this year, WitR is unlikely - especially as that was used, in part, to push/celebrate the launch of Forgotten Realms.

Now, it might be that we'd see Weekend in Ebberron on top of our Game Days. . . .

Oh Wolfstar, how I hope you are wrong. I had a great time playing in the WIFR last year. The other game days are nice, but it kind of stinks that they can't be played for LFR credit.

There are not many times when I hope to be wrong - but this is one of them.

If I wanted to play Devil's Advocate with myself, I could point out that the WitR also happened in. . . October last year?

And our Game Days exhaust themselves well before that - which would leave a nicely sized window for WitR. ~shrug~

I still reserve my personal hopes that we'll see Weekend in Eberron, but that's probably just me.

I would very much like to see a Weekend in Eberron, especially if there is an RPGA Eberron campaign of some sort.

Soooo. . .

. . . a little birdy tells me that there might just be some news about this in a couple weeks.

I can't give any details, but if I were you I'd keep my calendar clear for the first full weekend in November.

And, see, there would be no reason for the birdy to whisper "no". I mean, that's no fun. So, good. Tell us when and promise the adventure will rock.

And, hey if you say announcement in June and it becomes June 4th, we will totally go crazy about how you miss deadlines.

We are definitely doing WitR this year. Mark your calendars for November 6-8.

We're adding value to the kit, too. The adventure should be all spiffy like the Game Day adventures (PH2 and MM2), and there might be some more goodies with it. We'll see.

Also, we have one of our best LFR writers working on the adventure, so you know it will be good. It will, once again, be exclusive to the weekend.

Any guess on level range?

Any guess on level range?

That would be my question, too. But, it's probably to early to know.

NeonCon is the same weekend. A Weekend in the Realms gives me ample reason to stay home and save some money, but still get some good LFR action. Nice.

It will, once again, be exclusive to the weekend.

I know my lawful neutral mindset doesn't necessarily mesh that well with the newRPGA paradigm, but I'd love to see the RPGA guidelines revised with some actual slot zero rules before this.

Even moreso than "public play only" adventures, date-restricted adventures necessarily lead to questions as to what is allowed in terms of running the adventure ahead of time so that DMs can be prepared (or after the fact, if someone ate the module rather than playing).

While I can say what I'm personally comfortable with, I dislike having to say that I have absolutely no idea what those making the rules actually intend.

I have you filled under Lawful Good myself, but no question at all on the lawful. ;)
