Will we be allowed to bring our own characters for the LFR Preveiw
at Origins or will we be limited to the premade selections?

Now that the books are out many of us would like the opertunity
to use them to create our own character to take on the challenges
offered by the Preview. I believe that earlier Previews had rules
for buiold your own characters as well as the premades.

Now that the books are available and core RPGA 4.0 creation
rules are out may we bring our own character? Maybe a one page
customizing document just for this run.

I hope that this can be arranged.

If you're referring to "Return to the Moathouse" there are pregens provided or you can create a character yourself.

The Character Creation Guidelines for the RPGA even includes a one-page appendix for this module.

Thank you for your help but I have seen those.

I was refering to Prev-3 Death in Skyfire Wastes. I know
that they will have premade adventurers but I woul like
to be able to create my own.

Again thank you and if anyone in power can
answer about Prev-3 I would be greatful.

Thanks,
Charles

The Moathouse blurb gives the option of bringing your own or using a pre-gen. Prev-3 says that pre-gens are provided. Unless you hear differently in the next couple weeks, assume that means exactly that: Prev-3 requires the use of pre-gens.

PREV-3 Death in the Skyfire Wastes has pregenerated characters, but most of them have some little surprises on them.

Hi.

I have a question about the RPGA character creation rules for Moathouse.

Can we choose to bump our item down a level? What I mean is that instead of choosing level 4,5,6 items, can I choose level 3,5,6?

Also, when purchasing a magic item, armor for example, do you pay the cost listed plus the base cost of the item?

Thanks for your help,

Kim

I'm having trouble finding it, but it's been said before that yes you can. The +1, =, -1 are the item maximums. If I find the quote I'll edit this to show it.

I believe the new rule is that magic stuff all just has the base cost pertaining to its level. So no more spending 360 gold for level 1 armor PLUS 100 for the armor itself.

I've been known to be wrong before, however.

Thanks for your help,

Kim

Wolfstar's correct on both counts. You can always choose a magic item less than the levels allowed, and don't worry about the mundane cost of the armor/weapon/implement when purchasing.

Also, keep in mind that the extra gold you get to spend on other items includes mundane gear.
