hello,
I was just wondering if there was going to ba any RPGA activity at the chicago convention of August 6-9? and if so would one need any parental consent or any form of preregistration to play?

Looks like you're talking about the Wizard World Chicago Comic-Con, which is that weekend, at the Rosemont convention center.

AFAIK, WotC isn't sending an official RPGA presence (RPGA HQ attends a very small number of conventions, fewer than a half-dozen a year, and they generally focus more on gaming conventions).

I do believe that, in the past, individuals have run RPGA games at that convention, but, I don't currently see any public events on the WPN calendar set up for that weekend here in Illinois. Also, I live in the area, and I know most of the folks who run public RPGA events in Chicago, but I haven't heard anything about anyone running at this con.

All of this means that, while it's possible there might be some RPGA play opportunites at the con, I'm not finding any sign of it (after a little bit of digging).

And also, as clarification, Wizards magazine, which deals with coics and toys, has no affiliation with Wizards of the Coast.
