Will any of the current RPGA games be converted to 4th editon? If so, whats the general timeline.

I was running 3.5 ebberon (all 4 factions) and my group decided to opt out until rpga was 4th edition.

I just havent seen it posted anywhere when 4th is going to be used and different sources seem to mention just PHB or whatever and not what edition. have i just missed something (i admit my searching was very limited as i dont expect to find any answers easily)

Xen'Drik Expeditions and Living Greyhawk both have their final modules premiering at Origins in two weeks (we're told all modules for both will be playable through the end of 2008).

Starting at GenCon in August will be Living Forgotten Realms, which is the RPGA's "defacto" 4th Edition campaign series.

We've been told that a new Eberron "D&D Campaign" model (level bumps, set campaign length) will be premirering at DDXP 2009. This will also be 4th Edition.

No. the current RPGA games will remain in their current edition. If your group is planning on continuing the storyline for the Xen'Drik Expeditions campaign, they'll have to play them as 3.5. The mods for Xen'Drik will expire 12/31/08.

RPGA Living Forgotten Realms 4.0 will premire will all new adventures in August.

Happy gaming!

thanks for the input.. i just ordered keep on the shadowfell and Heathen to run in a few weeks.

That should keep them occupied till living forgotten starts up...

I dont see how they expect keep on the shadowfell to be ran in a 4 hour session though.. lol

They don't expect KotS to be run in four hours.

Many of the RPGA assumptions break down somewhat the further away from organised play campaigns you get, and long published modules are about as far as is possible! Just play it however you like and enjoy the RPGA points!

I was going to ask aboutt hat too. Is it 4 points per session and you just set up sessions until you're finished, or is it 4 points for the entire portfolio?

I would assume that the intention is that it's 4 points for the whole module. Odds are pretty good that once a player has received credit for KotS, they can't get credit for it again (just like any other RPGA module).

One could, theoretically give players 4 points for playing KotS, and if you need more than one session, you could schedule "home games" for the rest of the sessions needed, though this is bending the rules at best, and breaking them at worst.

No it specifically says:

http://events.wizards.com/rpgaweb/external/econplay.asp?scenariocd=KEEPSF4E

Players can only play once in this adventure.
Multiple participation to the same adventure will be invalidated.

I was just wondering if they're not being clear on how points and scheduling work for 4e material. If I recall correctly, Undermountain Adventures takes characters through about the same number of levels and it has 4 different scenarios each with it's own point value.

As far as multiple sessions go, isn't the default that if something takes more than one session, you do another session to finish it? It seems to me you always received points for both sessions, which makes sense because you WERE playing the scenario once, just across two (or more) sessions.

The database only knows that if something is reported, it's assumed to be completed.

Therefore if you ran a table of KotS for me (and my friends), and we needed two sessions over two weeks to play it, we could only report it (and earn points for it) once. We'd either not report it the first week and leave the event open, or report it the first week and get our points for it, then play it again the next week without any official sanctioning.

Undermountain (and similarly, Eye of the Lich Queen) was written to be four separate adventures as I understand it (didn't buy/read it). Each of those sub-adventures was adapted separately by the RPGA (as I understand it).

If there's only one KotS module/event to sanction, it's safe to assume that that's intended to be the entire module.

I suppose, I was just wondering if that was the case since ther has been all this talk of restructuring RPGA sanctioning with 4e and this is the first real 4e campaign.
