I am running an adventure in about 3 weeks and was planning to play in the same adventure in a friend’s campaign in about a month. They are both home games and I was wondering if this was a big deal. I also wanted to know how to report a game that has multiple sessions. Keep on the Shadow Fell is a long adventure and is going to take multiple sessions. How do I report that? Do I report it once or every time we play? Thank you in advance for answering a newbie’s questions and concerns. |

For your other question, the RPGA just has a placeholder for your home campaign (assuming that when you say "home campaign", you don't mean "we're playing RPGA-written modules as a home campaign"), and the system doesn't notice or care if you've played and run the same thing. Even if you're playing an RPGA module, under the new rules for Living Forgotten Realms, you can play a module you've already run (you can't do that under the older campaigns -- Living Greyhawk and Xen'drik Expeditions). |

It's only if you are playing in one of the organised campaigns that things become more complicated. Otherwise, create events where you play a particular adventure and report them (my advice is to report them as soon as you know who's playing, or to just use the "Home Campaign (Other)" which you can legitimately get one point per 'session' for.) In those circumstances, pretty much whatever the GM says, goes. If it's truly private, and ordered as a 'Home' event, not a Game Day or Retail or Convention, no-one else can complain about what you're doing. However if you start playing in the campaigns, even if you are doing so at a Home event, you really need to follow all the rules in the RPGA Character Creation Guidelines, as what you do will be recorded on paper and on the RPGA website and so needs to be reasonably standard. Hope that helps! |
