Adding Players to Home RPGA game

Hi all,

I was hoping for some advice/instructions:

I run a home campaign.  Recently, I tried to get started with the DM rewards program, in order to, well, get the DM rewards.  However, in order to report an event, I need to have RPGA/DCI (is there a difference between these two things?)  number for each player.  Therein lies the problem: none of my players are RPGA members.  They've said they'd all be happy to sign up (they are good to their DM), but I don't know how to allow them to do so.  Like I said, I'm running this game out of my home, so I'm not an official organizer or anything like that.  Is there something I can or need to do to allow them to sign up for the RPGA?

I would have tried customer support on this one, but for some reason the wizards customer support website hasn't been working (it takes me to a blank page) for the last couple of weeks. Not sure why that is exactly.

Thanks for your help, folks!

Aoi

Lots of folks are having problems with the Customer Service pages.

Check out this thread:

If clearing your cache and cookies doesn't do it, post at the end of the thread about your specific problem, and they'll take care of you.

Hope this helps.

In order for your players to become RPGA/DCI members (there is no real difference anymore) you will need to get them to fill out membership cards. You can order packs of cards from Wizards the same way you order adventures.

Go to Event Sanctioning, and click on the "WPN Materials" icon, instead of D&D. Under Event Type, choose "Membership Card Request" and follow the instructions. You will be sent a pack of cards, and once you have them you can get your players to fill them out.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. Much appreciated.  I followed the advice to go to the WPN Materials link, and got this message.

"There is a problem with your request. Most likely you are not a coordinator for this brand or you have no public venues on file. Please contact your WPN representative for assistance."

Any thoughts?  I'm not sure who my "WPN representative" is...

Thanks again!

That's strange; I didn't think you needed a public venue to order cards. Are you able to sanction private D&D events? Have you passed the Herald test?

In any case, your WPN representative is most likely Wizards customer support, so that doesn't help very much.

One other thing you can try is to find a nearby store that runs Magic tournaments and ask them if you can have some DCI cards—you can use the event locator to find the nearest one. Unless they are very unfriendly they should be happy to help you. You can use these cards the same as any you'd get yourself.

Take the "exam" in the judges center for WPN organizer. This is 5 questions long and then you will be able to order extra sign up sheets.
