Does anyone know if you can use supplements (Arcane Power and Adventurer's Vault in particular)? As a general rule, yes. You're going to want to read the Character Creation Guide for details on what, specifically, is allowable for use in an RPGA game, but, generally speaking, most "player-oriented" books (like the "Power" books and the Adventurer's Vault series). You can download the CCG document here (it's the "RPGA Character Creation Guide"): wizards.com/dnd/Event.aspx?x=dnd/4new/ev... Hope this helps! |
| #3vincienteMar 04, 2010 0:10:25 | I was about to post a similar question. I am actually concerned with finding out how to know what is and is not RPGA/LFR legal, out of the Drungeon/Dragon magazines. I ask this because I was recently interested in converting the Shadowfell chain based on some guidelines published in a few of the issues. I ran into two problems with this idea. The first was the length of the Adventures being too long for LFRs standard event blocks. The second came from the conversion guidelines being less than "official". As a result, I am going to be looking into other options to fill the gaps for my player without sending them randomly around the world. Most of the players are consistent local players & for this reason, I am interested in giving them more depth to how/why they ended up in new areas. Anyway, how do I know without question what is RPGA/LFR legal and what is more suited for homebrew games? |

| #5Dragon9Mar 04, 2010 7:17:55 | I was about to post a similar question. I am actually concerned with finding out how to know what is and is not RPGA/LFR legal, out of the Drungeon/Dragon magazines. The CCG has all the answers you seek. It's all on page 2 in a chart under Player Resources. As a quick answer: everything from Dragon is allowed for the players, nothing from Dungeon. |
| #6Madfox11Mar 04, 2010 7:31:26 | Adventures from Dungeon can be run as MYREs, you will need to adapt them (xp and treasure wise). Adventures that last longer then 4 hours, likely require you to use multiple MYREs. |
| #7kenobi65Mar 04, 2010 9:29:17 | As a quick answer: everything from Dragon is allowed for the players, nothing from Dungeon. To expound a bit: Everything from Dragon is legal for players to use, as long as: a) it appears in the final PDF of that issue, which is published at the end of the month (some items which appear in the individual articles h.ave changed by the time of the final publishing, or not appeared in the "final" issue at all) b) there is nothing in the article which explicitly says that it is *not* legal for RPGA/LFR play (the original hybrid articles carried that restriction). |
| #8WolfStar76Mar 04, 2010 12:58:22 | For a more specific listing of what is legal in LFR, there's also a wiki page in LFR Group: community.wizards.com/lfr/wiki/Legal_Opt... |

| #10bruntfcaMar 05, 2010 4:47:59 | If you download the Character builder, I think there is an option to select RPGA legal or something. You can always print it out, or just send the saved file to the DM when you've finished with it.
lol, I also thought if you were going to ask about taking Creatin or something for some reason! |
| #11kenobi65Mar 05, 2010 9:36:17 | If you download the Character builder, I think there is an option to select RPGA legal or something. You can always print it out, or just send the saved file to the DM when you've finished with it. Just be aware...that option has *never* been 100% accurate. With every update, Dragon9 finds a few things which are listed as legal, and aren't. |
| #12MindWandererBMar 05, 2010 15:10:11 | Everything from Dragon is legal for players to use, as long as: Or, as with all material, c) Is not "content that specifies DM adjudication in order to be used by a character" or an artifact, such as the original Oso de la Fez. |

You can always print it out, or just send the saved file to the DM when you've finished with it. And I haven't fixed that in a looooong time. In light of the newest update, I sould probablt try to do that. Baby keeps me busy. I haven't been able to keep up with the power cards either on my site. Granted, the new Dragon direction makes that harder since the number of powers has grown exonentially. ![]() |
