Best way to Sanction/Report Private events?

I recently started running private D&D events and I was curious in how to sanction/report events properly.

I did a report already of H1 campaign we have been playing, but I don't understand the whole "sessions" system inside the reporting.

So what should I do, report 1 single event and add the amount of sessions it tooks us to finish the campaign? or report an event per sessions we gather to play it?

How those player rewards works if a single event has more than 1 session?

in the end, what's the Best way to Sanction/Report Private events?

thanks in advance,

A session is between five and seven people (including one GM) playing D&D for a discrete period of time. The RPGA is set up to best understand stand-alone adventures (whether part of a campaign like Living Forgotten Realms, or separate from a campaign) which take about four hours to play from beginning to end. The ability to sanction and report longer adventures requires a more 'creative' use of the ordering/reporting system because the system's not exactly set up for it.

If you are playing H1, for instance, you are not going to complete it in one 'session'. The GM should receive more than one reward point for GMing it - as if you were running Living Forgotten Realms adventures for the same period of time you would probably play five or six adventures, and so earn five or six GM Reward points.

So what I would do is this:

1) Set up an event for each day you play
2) Add 'H1 Keep on the Shadowfell' (or 'D&D Home Campaign (Other)') as the adventure you are playing.
3) Add one session if you play for about 1/3 of the waking day (say 6-11 pm), two sessions if you play for about 2/3 of the waking day (say 1-11pm) and three session if you have a mini D&D marathon (say 10am to midnight!)
4) Put the same data in all of the sessions (presuming that the same players played all day) - although this is actually not terribly important. You do need to make sure you have four RPGA members playing PCs plus an RPGA member acting as GM. You cannot record a seventh player playing a PC, nor could you record a co-GM or anything like that. Technically you should not have more than six players, but as this is not part of a shared campaign like Living Forgotten Realms, no-one is going to know or care, and it doesn't matter whether a player's involvement is recorded or not.
5) Repeat this, on the next occasion you play. This will give the GM (what I consider to be) an appropriate number of GM reward points. As players are no longer disqualified from playing an adventure 'again', the system does not care if you tell it that someone played H1 on one day, and then played it again a week later, so you can keep players' play history vaguely accurate on the WotC site, should that be something they are concerned about. Otherwise, just order and report the D&D Home Campaign option which does just as well!

If you start playing Living Forgotten Realms or any more organised programmes developed by WotC over the next year or so you will need to follow a few more guidelines, but for private home campaigns playing adventures like H1, or the GM's own campaign, there is no need to make things more complicated than this.
