Can you sell items?

I'm not 100% clear on the rules for bundles.

As I understand it, you can choose a magical item from a bundle as many times as you have character levels, and nothing changes that allotment. Once a magical item bundle is chosen, that takes up a slot regardless of what happens afterwards.

However, if I recognise that an item sold is worth more gold than a gold bundle, can I burn up a slot, sell the item, and buy a more fitting item?

You can choose 1 item from a bundle per level.

If you sell one of those items you still chose the bundle, you do not get that pick back.

You can sell bundle items just fine however (I suspect it will turn out to be necassary in Paragon tier for example) and use the cash yu gained that way to get any other legal item (of your level or lower).

You can always buy as many magic items as you can afford as long as they are equal to your current level or lower.  You cannot sell mundane items.  Once you "Find" a magic item, that slot is forever closed off to you regardless if you sell it, disenchant it, or just put in in the attic.  Check out the rules for RPGA/LFR 1.9 to see all the details.
