Can I get another Player to cast the "Transfer Enchantment" ritual.. if I pay for the ritual cost?... (provided that they know the ritual, or have a ritual scroll)

The 2 quotes below seem to give contradicting evidence...

"If you want to make any other change to a magic item, you must use the Transfer Enchantment ritual found in the Adventurer’s Vault and pay the appropriate costs for use. You can transfer any magic item quality to another legal item, as long as you have access to the quality (see the Transfer Enchantment ritual for more details)."

"you cannot permanently alter another player’s magic item (or other equipment) in any fashion."

I don't know. That is a good question.

To add to it, can a PC gives a Ritual Casting PC enough components to create a magic item for him?

Hang on... serious editing here... :P

No you cannot. The CCG on page 9 says: "In addition, you cannot permanently alter another player’s magic item (or other equipment) in any fashion."

There's no contradiction. Nothign in the first paragraph you quoted says anothe rplayer can alter your equipment.

To add to it, can a PC gives a Ritual Casting PC enough components to create a magic item for him?

No. Once again, this falls under altering your equipment or possibly You cannot receive treasure from another player. Either they enchant a longsword they have (which is giving you treasure) or they enchant one you already have (which is altering your equipment).

The long and short of it is: You cannot permanently receive treasure (items, gold, etc.) or have your equipment permanently altered by another player. If your DM allows it, you can have an NPC cast it but it will likely be at a markup. Also note that to use the EMI or Transfer rituals, you have to be greater than or equal to the item's level to do it. Even if an NPC does it.

Personally... except for soem rare instances with the transfer ritual, it's pointless anyway. Since we can buy anything our level or lower, you can just buy it. No reason in stressing about the Enchant Item ritual. And transfer enchantment is cheap enough... and it's a level four ritual. By the time you reach level to be able to buy a scroll of the ritual you're likely to already have the enchantment you want ont he weapon you want anyway.

Well, the only reason I ask is becouse I am wanting to transfer my new +3 weapon enhancement into my +1 Silvered weapon.

I invested 500gp on the silver treatment.. (which so far has been a COMPLETE waste of gp)... and I want to keep those original weapons.

So, if I am understanding this .. I will need to purchase the ritual scroll, then either cast it myself.. or pay an NPC to cast it, spending my gold for the component cost as well.

Also keep mind that the previous enchantment will be lost completely, as has been pointed out.

In most cases the only real reason to ever use Transfer Enchantment is if you want the enchantment to occupy an item form that's better suited to your character than the original item. Like if you'd really rather have a Vicious Execution Axe than a Vicious Longsword.

It's almost never worth it to 'overwrite' another enchantment. You really gain nothing by doing so.

I think that silvered weapons are still considered mundane weapons and therefore can not be sold.

You can sell a magical weapon for 1/5th of its value. Since a +1 Silvered weapon would have the cost of the weapon and the silvering process in its total price then yes you could sell it for 1/5th the price.

Quick Question:

I have a +1 Lightning Craghammer.
I have a +2 Resounding Craghammer.
I have a mundane Throwing Hammer.
I do NOT have the Ritual Caster Feat.

To transfer the "+1 Lightning" modifier to the Throwing Hammer, can I buy a scroll for 175, pay the 25 component cost, and cast the Ritual myself? Is there anything else I am missing, or is it just that simple?

You're not missing anything, it's that simple.

If I get a magic weapon in a mod can I choose to make it silver in addition to the type. I know when I choose Magic Armor I get to pick material and type.
