Ok, with the character database now being split between the public and private one should we duplicate the character numbers and names in each? I play both private and public LFR games, I don't want a different name/number set up for each for now split characters. Any ideas?

At this point, I'd just fall back on paper tracking until they get the database fixed. Who knows what would happen if you duplicate the characters and then they try and merge the character databases back together.

Well they moved them all to the private field, so the other is blank. This weekend I played at a gameday with my #2 character, who will now be entered into the public side as my only one there, so he won't be #2 there. I am nervous that in a month when they finally fix it they will merge my #2 into my #1, instead of #2 to #2. I am one of the lucky ones whose records have been pretty good up to now, suddenly I am very nervous.

I would not worry too much about it, you see I am missing about a 1/2 dozen events that never where reported and I have at least ONE convention that still has not made it in..

Thus he data base for me is more of a ... place where points go when I judge so I can get tings and for later in the year when they send us stuff as a player I can get tings..

Maybe in a year or so it will mean more when they can get the kinks out of it... *smiles*

BUT this is just my own opinion..

I know several people that dont use the character database at all.

Unfortunately I've joined the ranks of people who simply don't check the character database.

I keep excellent records - especially now that I have a Journal in the Character Builder (and have Microsoft Live Mesh setup to keep my characters synched on all 3 of my computers).

So, I've got my own record, and excellent backups.

I'd like nothing more than to have the online character database be correct and easy to use, but that isn't the reality right now.

I have great hopes that sometime in the not-too-distant future the Dbase will get some more love and get the kinks worked out, and possibly even add a "now that's cool!" features, but for now, I'm happy with my personal records.

Bah, surrender is for the weak! I have duplicated the character names and numbers on both sides, we will see how it works. I know the system is borked, but for me it has worked so far. Well mostly, my main is off by 5gp. Never give up, never surrender!

Agreed. My character information has been fine up to now. Even had some corrections made to it a couple months ago when I contacted custserv after appealing didn't get anywhere. However, I think I'm going to get my characters into the chracter builder and use the journal. Things are not looking good right now....

I have decided to just order events as Private until they fix/figure out the databases. It sucks that the game store we play at wont get any advertisement on the WOTC/RPGA calendar. But until they get it fixed its just the way we have to do it.
