Credit for running Delves

The owner of the gaming store is listed as the Tournament Organizer. He has been receiving the delve packets. I am the GM running the games and I am submitting the scores to RPGA after every session. The staff there allow me to post the final scores under his account.

However, I have noticed that I do NOT appear to be getting credit for running the delves. Any idea why this might be happening? Any suggestions so that I can get proper credit in the future? Should I be the one requesting the delve packets from this point forward?

Whoever has their membership number entered on the online reporting as being the GM for the session should be the person receiving GM credit as I understand it.

If you're putting in the TOs number in that place, that would be why he's getting credit. If you're entering your information it *should* be you.

I have run two January Delves so far and have not received DM credit for either. I am expecting to see GM credit under my RPGA Rewards page, is that where it should appear?

Both sanctionings were done by others who are familiar with the LFR session reporting methods. They tell me I was indentified as the DM in both cases. One sanctioning was for a Home game and the other a Retail game.

They also identified all of the players involved but, for some reason, had to select a LFR character too. I recommended they enter 0xp and 0gp and no story award since only the player should receive credit (not that it matters anymore) and not their LFR character(s).

Has anyone received GM credit for running a Delve in 2009 yet?

I sanctioned my own Delve Night for January and noticed something that might explain why no one is receiving any credit for them. The value in the column that indicates the number of reward points is ZERO.

Are we supposed to earn RPGA GM credits by DMing Delve Nights or not?!

I'm glad you mentioned something...I just noticed this myself.

Is this a glitch...or do Delves not count toward DM Rewards? Inquiring minds want to know.

D'oh!

I knew there was at least one question I was forgetting at the show.

I'll poke people and see if I can get an answer.

We're not sure...although I don't see why they wouldn't be.

However if you've read something official on this could you please point us in the direction of the post?

Hmmm... I've done several searches on these forums and in the LFR yahoo group and can't find anything. I woudl swear that I read something from someone in theknow that said that the Delves didn't count for reward points. But then again, that was a while agao and prior to the New rewards system so it may have been out of date anyway if it i didn't just dream it up.

I know they didn't count for Player Rewards...but like you I can't remember how I know that...I just know that I do!

But when you think about it, why wouldn't a weekly presence in a retail store promoting the game line count toward rewards?

Well, when I sanctioned the D&D Delve Night - Download Only, it showed as 0 points.

So, unfortunately, it looks like the Delve night runs do not count.

Hmm. If that's the case I may stop running them. Lets hope its just a glitch.

I'm listed as having three GM points that I can't account for other than running Delves. When I report my Delve event this weekend I'll see if that number is raised to 4 or not. Then I'll have my answer! :D

I've stopped running them too. They are pointless.

We, as DMs, get no RPGA credit and the only players that could handle Paragon-level characters are more interested in building their characters in ongoing campaigns or LFR and have no interest in with disposable characters in one-shot adventures.

If the Delves were designed for attracting new players -- which is what retail stores really want -- they need to offer low-level Delves; like level 1 through 5.

I agree about the need for lower level delves...but with some fancy DM footwork I can get just about anyone swinging with a 11th level pregen. Unless they're totally hopeless....then I just throw dice at their heads! :D

Though in all honesty if running Delve night doesn't lead to DM rewards I'm likely to just scrap them and run some of my homebrewed single page adventures instead.

A potential answer...

Although I've heard nothing official...this morning before I reported this weekend's Delve event my current GM Rewards points was listed at "3". After reporting my event it was listed as "4".

Confirmed

I just received an email from customer support informing me that Delve Nights do indeed count toward player rewards!

Well... that stinks, seeing as they scrapped the player rewards program. Now we just have DM rewards. Oh well...

Of course, I'm just being sarcastic at your faux pas. ;)

The Delves are EXACTLY the sort of thing that should give DM rewards. Why they would make them zero is beyond me. If it were my show, they would be worth double. DM rewards, as far as WOTC is concerned, are to give perks to those who create opportunities for people to use their products. Getting NEW people is the bread and butter of longevity for a company, so the Delves are much more important from a marketing standpoint then a 8th level LFR adventure where those people playing it have already played a bunch of stuff and a likely already hooked.

From what I experience new Delves count for 1 point, but if you accidently select an older one it is pointless, unless you're running it because it is a lower level.
