If I were to guess it's likely just a placeholder link until the May Game Day is available - but I'll shoot it up the chain.

Of course, WotC isn't open/won't respond until Monday at the soonest, but I'll do what I can.

I've passed a note on to WotC about this - I'd suggest a "better safe than sorry policy" and actuallyrecommend AGAINST ordering the game day for now. Worst case scenario being that those of us that ar ordering this early might have to re-order the module later.

Most likely they'll just fix it on the backend, but why add to the confusion?

I will hold off on sanctioning the event until you give the OK. Been screwed in the past by trying the jump the gun on their site before they are ready.

I havent received any official word back yet - however I went and checked on the event I'd sanctioned to find it gone.

As such, I highly recommend anyone who'd already sanctioned this event double-check their sanctioning.

On the upside, in re-sanctioning the event, they've already input some of the feedback from the feedback thread. Specifically, when you sanction your event you're asked how many additional kits you need, and told how many players/GMs a kit is intended to support.

The "catch" is the form says how many "more" kits you need - but I'd like to get clarification that it really is to add "extra" kits. IE - if I choose "2" from the drop-down, that SHOULD mean I'm receiving 3 total kits (1 from just sanctioning, and 2 MORE).

After sanctioning, I had to confirm the mailing address for the kit(s).

Lastly, when checking my event now - I see that I have access to the MM2 Game Day zipfile.

So, to recap:

If you sanctioned the May (MM2) Game Day PLEASE go back and double-check to ensure your sanctioned event is still in the system!

Hope that helps!

I checked my sanctioned event and it still contains the PHB2 zip file.

The zip contains only a cover and maps for my friend.

I suspect they aren't finished setting this up for live sanctioning.

There is one thing confusing on the sanctioning. It says how many additional kits do you need. I assume that means that if I put 2 additional down I will be getting 3 kits, right? Because when you finish it appears you are getting two ;)

Huzzah for allowing those of us with additional need to get extra kits. I am hopeful that we will be able to give away the PC minis this time around.

I hadn't gotten around to opening the module PDF - but you're right, the module isn't in there, just the maps.

On the upside, the character sheets appear to be PDFs made with the Character Builder - and not just the "Intro sheets" from the last game day.

I'll poke around and see what's up with the adventure PDF.

Wow, what an improvement! Char sheets from the CB, a very nice looking map with interesting terrain (even though it's still with tiles it certainly is better put together). Thanks for listening, looking forward to the adventure. I'll start drumming up interest at our meetup in two weeks.

Well, I just sanctioned it. The download now includes everything, including the adventure. After a quick browse through, I'm quite looking forward to this. The adventure looks interesting and straightforward to run. 5th level characters that are built decently.

In many ways, this is a much better introduction to the game than the PHII gameday.

No one official, but it forced me to have to choose a number for kits, so I think that is the total number of kits you need, no initial kit plus this number, but this number of kits.

12 page PDF, no cover, no need, if you are printing, to print out page 3 or 12 of the PDF, IMO. Page 3 is a full-page picture of one of the monsters in the adventure, and page 12 is just an LFR ad.

Kit Content Description
Your kit contains the following materials:
• An adventure entitled “Journey Through the Silver Caves” (3 copies). The focal point of the event, the adventure is designed to be played in about 3-4 hours. Give this adventure to the Dungeon Masters (DMs) that will be running the adventure.
• A double-sided poster map detailing all of the combat encounter locations in the adventure (3 copies). These maps are all to scale, making it very easy for the DM to get right to the action with minimal set-up. Give these to the DMs that will be running the adventure.
• 5 pregenerated character sheets to play with the adventure (3 copies of each). These 5th level characters were all created using the Character Builder application on D&D Insider. Give these out to the players when they sit down to play the adventure; photocopy more sheets if you need them.
• Monster miniatures for all the foes in the adventure (3 packs). All the monsters encountered in the adventure are present in the pack. Give these packs to the DMs running the adventure.
• 5 player character miniatures for the adventurers (3 of each). These miniatures go with the character pictured on the character sheet. Hand these out to the players of the appropriate characters.
• Flyers promoting the next Game Day event and upcoming D&D releases (50 copies). Hand these out to anyone at your location, whether they’re playing the adventure or just showing up to hang out.
• This instruction and trivia sheet. Make photocopies of the trivia sheet and hand them out to everyone at your event. People can work on the trivia when they’re not playing the adventure.

Also, I think this module is likely to run somewhat faster than the PHII module. In the 3-4 hour range instead of the 4-5 that many of us encountered.

Characters:

Althaea - Eladrin Wizard

Arjhana - Dragonborn Rogue

Chance - Tiefling Warlord

Eomer - Dwarf Paladin

Uthal - Goliath Barbarian

Wizard & Barbarian are the only ones with 21s in their primary stats.

All characters are at 5th level, which should make things easier for newbies than Paragon PCs, at least.

Some ... odd ... race/class choices, but I haven't looked into the characters in-depth yet.

Given the use of the CB, there should be fewer errors in the characters, at least.

Well, built the PCs in CB, and they work, although there were some strange choices made in point buy, powers, feats, etc. If I need to print a set out, I am probably going to print them from CB instead of the PDFs supplied, just to remove the optional cards, and save myself some ink...

I hope you are wrong on this one, or if someone can up my order to the right number of kits. I need 3 total, that's enough for every table and we should be able to fill that up and then some. Starting to wonde rif I shouldn't have ordered 4.

Our last meetup was 34 with almost no promotion. This time we are promoting a bit heavy.

Sanctioning the event has changed since I ordered earlier. Now it asks you how many people you expect.

Also it wont let me cancel the event I sanctioned. I need to cancel it so that I can reorder it again for 2 separate locations here locally. Hope my email gets to the right person.

So no human PCs, but the monster pack looks like it will be quite interesting.

I would note that when I santioned it, instead of asking how many additional packs (with the math issue you mentioned), it had a drop down asking me which range of players I expect (1-15, 16-30, etc.). Yay for WotC_whomever is being proactive about fixing things!

A few notes:

1) I'm still waiting on official word if the number of kits we're ordering is the TOTAL or the "MORE" that it describes. If I have to, I'll make a phone call tomorrow to try and get a direct answer.

2) Re-sanctioning issues. There are two ways to go with this, that I can forsee.

The first would simply be to contact Customer Service (http://www.wizards.com/customerservice), give them the sanctioning # of your event, and tell them what change or changes you need (including, but not limited to the number of kits you want - or simply canceling the event so you can start over with a clean slate).

If you simply need to grab one or two extra kits, and there's another Herald GM at your location - you could also just have them sanction the event. The store I'm ordering for, for example, has two locations.

While I could just order all ~4 kits to the one store, that means the other store wouldn't be listed in the calendar. So, I'm ordering 2 kits for Store #1, and another Herald will be the Senior GM for store #2. Keeps things nice and easy.

I recommend the Customer Service route first and foremost, but option #2 isn't a bad one if needed.

Having had time to read through this one, I agree. It's much better than the one for PHB2.

And you have no idea how thrilled my home game player with the Female Dragonborn Rogue will be with an actual mini for her. She's been using a Baaz Draconian in it's place.

Are the PC minis all ones from the upcoming Player's Handbook Heroes sets?

This adventure seems much more professionally done than the PHB2 adventure. I am collecting tips for DMing the MM2 Game Day adventure in the following thread:

Tips on DMing MM2 Game Day Adventure

As before, the finished product should include DM Guides for the adventure and the player characters, and a Player Guide to the Characters.

I thank you in advance for your observations, suggestions, and patience.

I haven't received a reply yet, but I was poking at the system now that the new changes are in.

If you sanction the MM2 Game Day you're now asked how many people you anticipate arriving at your Game Day event (1-15, 16-30, etc). This will, in turn, order "x" kits for you (subject to availability).

If you want/need to change/verify your already-sanctioned event I'd suggest filling out a ticket with Customer Service or writing to dci@wizards.com. On the other hand - if you've been waiting to place your order, now would seem to be a great time to go ahead and place your order. ^_^

One point, one question.

First: I had registered my Game Day on 3/27/2009. I was able to shortly after download the MM2091GD.zip. After reading this thread I went back to check and make sure my event was still registered. Since I know WolfStar mentioned the sign up had changed I re-download the ZIP file to see if anything else had changed in the package.

I found three differences between the package I downloaded on 3/27 and 4/14. There is now a reporting sheet, and the Instructions sheet now is in two parts, one is Latin America and the other US and Canada instructions. If these two documents matter to you, make sure you go download them again.

Second: I saw someone post that the media kits typically get sent out a few days before the event? Is that true? Is the media kit going to be sent separately from the marketing kit?

The reason I bring this up is because this is the first sanctioned event I am hosting and the sooner I can get the Promotional materials the better I will be prepared for the amount of interest this might generate.

I do see there are two dates in the Info Sheet in the ZIP. The marketing cut off is 4/9/2009 and the Game Day Kit cut off is 5/4/2009 so I am guessing these will be sent out separately.

Assuming I am correct, does anyone have any experience on when we can expect the marketing kit? Even a PDF of the event poster would be helpful as I could post that to my website and social network letting them know about the upcoming event.

The kits usually come a few weeks before the event. The PDFs you get access to right away.

FYI, I was informed that I will be receiving 3 kits, which exactly what we needed, so I guess I orderedit right!

As Wolfstar has said in the other thread, at this point you should contact customer services.

As you are in Brazil, you may also get help (perhaps even in Portugese!) from
Devir Livraria Ltda.
Phone: +(5511) 3347 5700
Fax: +(5511) 3347 5707
Email: vendas@devir.com.br

However the DCI contact details for South America are the standard dci@wizards.com address.

I hope this helps!

Hi again.

They ( wizards I guess ) fix the "bug" in my system and I can schedule ( sanction ) my May -D&D Game Day, but I have another question.

When I schedule (sanction) my D&D game Day , teh adventure for donwload don't appears for me......Now I ask...

1- There is an exact day for ca I make the adventure download? Or this is another bug?

2- If it's a system bug(error) , Who can help-me ?? ( Or send me the adventure for e-mail )?

ty and I'm waiting for answers

When you look in 'My Events', click on "Dungeons and Dragons: Wizards Play Network" and "Search" you should see the event you have just sanctioned "D&D Game Day".

What should happen is that if you click the link, the downloadable file will be linked from the bottom of the page.

If that is not the case, you need to contact Customer Services. It may be that the Latin America file is not currently available. The file associated with events in the UK is available to me.

You have done everything right as far as I can see. The file must be missing or not properly associated with the event for Latin American venues.
