Hi all!

first of all...excuse me for my english...i'm italian :P

well..i've some question and i hope someone can give me an answer

1-if i'm a Herald level GM and i know where to do it...can i organize a santioned RPGA tournament? and have i to use a downloaded adventure or can i create it by myself?

2-is there for D&D players a rating/ranking system like for Magic The Gathering Tournaments?

3-I'm from italy so i'd like to know...if i make a santioned event (a tournament if i can or an event in a convention or an home play) and me and my players score rewards points...will we receive the promotional rewards prizes even if we're so far away from America? (i usually receive Magic rewards prizes for my tournament...but will i receive D&D ones too?).

i hope i was clear in my questions and i wait for some answers...

tnks!

Hi,

The forum just ate my reply

In short, out of order:

2) No, the RPGA doesn't do that any more
3) Yes, most of what the RPGA sends out in North America also comes to Europe

1) Complicated question!! The main thing the RPGA does is administer campaigns like Living Forgotten Realms. This is a world-wide campaign where people play official LFR adventures downloaded from the RPGA website at sanctioned events. Characters which follow the LFR rules can play in any LFR event and gain XP, GP, and items which they can then take to other events.

The RPGA will soon be starting 'D&D Delve Night', which is modelled on Friday Night Magic, apparently, and will be short 1-2 hour chunks of D&D designed to be played at game stores. Talk to your Wizards Play Network representatives about this, though information is only slowly trickling out about it!

Finally, you can sanction Home events where you earn points for playing adventures you write. These aren't LFR adventures so no official character can gain any rewards from it but the players get reward points. However, reward points tend to be translated into cards which are designed for use in LFR (or the Star Wars adventures) so that's not much of a reward unless you're also playing LFR.

The FAQ at the top of this forum should give you some more info, but feel free to ask more questions - there's plenty of us here happy to help!
