| #1SeanchaiJun 04, 2010 0:13:51 | I'm looking to get an Encounters kit for the new season. I'm running Encounters at a local store. I logged into the RPGA site and found out how to request a kit, but I don't see the Schedule an Event option available to me. I figured that might be because I hadn't taken any tests. Is that assumption correct? Also, are the tests open book? Because I took one just now and went down in flames. Are you really required to know that game in that level of detail? For example, I was asked how much damage a particular creature does with a certain attack. If it's not open book, it seems...extreme. Thanks! Seanchai |

That said, the tests are definitely open book (how can they not be). Once you pass you will also need to register your store as one of your venues which will also probably require that they confirm you are going to run the game there. |

When you log in at webapp.wizards.com/personal.aspx you should see a list of memberships like this: You're looking for the one which reads: "D&D WPN - CO". If it is not there, go into the Judge Center, create a 'Tournament Organiser' test and complete it (it's not really a test) then you should get some emails indicating your new status. 2) A retail store attached to your WPN account as a venue. If you do not have one of these, go to this site and complete the forms, choosing the appropriate options: www.wizards.com/Company/WPN/Join.aspx - alternatively (and particularly if you are outside North America) contact your local DCI/WotC office. As tirianmal says, it may now be too late to get in on this season, which runs until mid-September, but it's worth a try. |

However, it looks like because the store owner is already set up to run a game there, I can't get a second kit, regardless of how close to the start of the season it is. That's fine - he and I are working together. I was hoping to get three booklets as I think we'll have three DMs, but we'll manage. Thanks everyone for your help! Seanchai |
