| #1Aaron_HighcolorJul 14, 2008 11:18:20 | Is there any way I can use my DCI # for an RPGA membership? There has only been 1 RPGA event in my area, it was already full, I had to work, so I couldn't get a membership form. Someone told me that there was a way to do it, but I don't know how. Any help? |

As far as I've seen, you can use an RPGA # with some modification as a DCI number, but it appears to be a one-way street. If there's a way to turn a DCI# into an RPGA# your best bet would be to contact Customer Service ( http://wizards.custhelp.com ) and see what they say. If it IS possible, please post here and let us know, I'd love to know about it. ![]() |

I think you might be able to drop the first 3 numbers off of the DCI number and have it work for purposes of RPGA. |

Except that as not all RPGA numbers have the same three digits added to the front to turn them into DCI numbers, it's quite likely that there are (for instance) DCI numbers 123098765 and 456098765 and 789098765. If you turned one of these into an RPGA number 098765, you couldn't then turn any of the others into that RPGA number. Furthermore there might be, floating around, a printed RPGA membership card/application form with the number 98765 on it. If someone uses 98765 without the card, either it won't work (if the card has already been used so someone already has RPGA number 98765) or it will work, but make the card useless, so when someone subsequently tries to join the RPGA using that card/application form, everything will go horribly wrong. So I'm pretty sure that this shouldn't work, and that doing it could create problems for the future. I'm not sure if RPGA numbers have check-digits, but the fact that there are some of my friends have three-digit RPGA numbers strongly suggest that they don't. That means that the system will accept any not-yet-used number as an RPGA number and reserve that number in the database for the new member, whose name the reporting GM enters into the system. In this circumstance I suggest that it's wisest to only enter a new RPGA number into the system if you gave the player a card and know what number was on it, or the player got their new number directly from WotC CS. |

To acquire an RPGA membership number please reply with the following information and the number will be emailed back to you and you will receive a membership card in the mail within the next couple weeks. First Name Last Name Mailing address City State/Province Zip/Postal Code Country Phone number Birth date Email address |
