Establishing 'What is the Right Ruling?'

As seen on ENWorld today, Wizards' customer service is providing inconsistent rulings on clarification material. (This isn't necessarily a new phenomenon.) With that in mind, I'd like to throw out what I think would be a pretty decent statement on canon rulings for org play purposes.

Rulings

"There are five ways that Wizards of the Coast and the RPGA disseminates rules-based clarifications and corrections: Responses received via e-mail from Wizards' Customer Service department, updates in Wizards' print material and in digital Dragon and Dungeon, questions answered on Wizards' Web site in the "Ask the Sage" feature, the Wizards' official FAQ and published errata available for each individual product, and the RPGA's overall rules and individual campaign documentation.

"Of these sources, only the updates in the printed sources allowable for your RPGA campaign, the official Dungeons & Dragons FAQ/published errata, and all materials published by the RPGA are considered binding for table adjudication. Updates to rules in published products not recognized in your campaign are not recognized.

"Of the other two, the Sage's rulings should be considered strong guidance for character creation and development, as historically, the Sage's rulings often become official FAQ and errata material. As customer service is intended to guide individual players, and its answers are not published in any format other than private e-mails, it is inappropriate to refer to for rulings discussions and disputes."

Note that the latest LGCS essentially said "if a rule's unclear, your GM decides what the rule is". Yes, the FAQ and errata are official, and everything else not official, but a GM is perfectly entitled to follow a particular interpretation given by CS or Ask Wizards or Infinite Monkeys, etc.

I'd expect a similar thing to happen with LFR - the idea seems to be to empower GMs to run fun games for their players without putting them in any straight-jackets.

Also, per the RPGA rules, the Senior GM for an event is the final authority at that event.
