Has anyone else received a Membership Expiration Warning Notice

Brand:            Dungeons & Dragons WPN
Membership type:  Coordinator
Membership level: Gateway
Expiration date:  2009-11-02

Tournament Organizer memberships auto-expire after one year inactivity. Each specific brand has a unique membership, and in order to prevent a brand membership from expiring, you must sanction at least one event for that brand per year. If you do not currently run sanctioned events for this specific brand you do not need to renew your membership; all other brands you have been sanctioning tournaments for are unaffected by this action.

Thank you.

The DCI

OK, I've Coordinated or Judged at least 7 private events and Judged 7 events at Gen Con (would be nice if they got those in the system). I'm not sure why I'm getting this. Unless it's only saying I haven't coordinated any public events in a year (not sure that's true). Even so, if I want to set one up the future event, I don't believe you have to have a prier history of events. So, what's the point of this E-mail notice???Yell

It wouldn't be the first time WotC has mistakenly sent such notices to folks.

I wouldn't worry about it until you actually notice something doesn't work.

I believe there may be a requirement to have at least one public play WPN D&D event you have sanctioned each year to maintain the coordinator status.  The private (home play) events you set up, as well as any DMing do not count.  I suppose it is their way of clearing out inactive accounts.  Claire got a whole bunch of those notices (not surprising on the DCI stuff).

Yeah, apparently my ability to run magic tournaments is about to lapse.

Which was interesting since I don't think I've ever run one, and thought there was a whole testing/approval process to be able to. But whatever, I won't miss it.

If you have questions about your memberships, log in at wizards.custhelp.com and use the "email us" tab at the top. Someone can investigate this and get back to you about it.

Sorry for any inconvenience if the message is in error.

...and the page isn't loading.

I don't get it - I run plenty of public stuff.  Even if I didn't, I could understand losing coordinator status, but now it's not letting me log in at all.

If the customer service page isn't loading, read/post in the thread in my signature, where ORCs hang out fixing such problems (which are quite common!)

I got 2 e-mails like this. The problem is  the 1 year mark isn't for about 6 months. I haven't even been an RPGA member for a year. It's bad enough that their lame website and poor instructions misdirected me into believing that I had signed up for DM rewards in time for Village of Homlet but now they're screwing up my expiration dates? Seriously, why should I bother with RPGA if they don't seem to want me as a member?

I agree wholeheartedly.  This is ridiculous.  This whole mess of DCI/RPGA/WPN sites and affiliations really makes me glad I haven't gone any further than signing up.  Just trying to figure out if I've done the proper steps to get the Village of Hommlet dangled carrot has been frustrating enough, and of course I've gotten nothing for all my frustration.  The whole wizards website needs to be scrapped, and they can go back to photocopied newsletters.  They'd probably still mess that up.
