Expired Coordinator Status

A bit over a year ago I decided I wanted to be an LFR DM.  At that time I took the test and became a coordinator.  I was able to dowload a module I intended to run in a sanctioned home game.  We ran the LFR module, but never completed it.  I ended up running my own campaign every session after that, so my WPN coordinator status withered on the vine.

I recently have started playing in an LFR in-store game and got to talking with the coordinator about filling in as DM so he can play on occasion or if he needs a weekend off.  Two weeks ago I got an email telling me my coordinator status had expired (it had been a year).

My questions:

1. How do I renew my coordinator status?  The email had no instructions on how to do that.

2. Is there any point to even registering games for LFR anymore (from what I have read WotC will only "count" Encoutners and Game Day DMing toward their rewards program)?

3. Is it currently possible to get LFR modules without coordinator status?

Thanks in advance for any help.

First of all, Greg Marks is due to post a blog entry on the LFR group blog later today. It may provide some useful information for you.

Has your D&D Private Play - Co-ordinator status disappeared? If not, you can still get all the privately available adventures (though that's not as big a list as it should be at the moment).

If you are going to be organising Public Play events, you can (re-) join the WPN using  the form here and provide details of the store you're planning to run at. Once the details have been verified, you'll be able to create events again. You may also be able to get Customer Service to reactivate your co-ordinator status if you ask them. You can contact them using the web system at www.wizards.com/customerservice or by phone using the details here if you're in North America (and via the email address listed here elsewhere in the world).

The current plan appears to be to give some form of reward to GMs who run LFR at public events, though there aren't any details yet. Public events will also be able to contribute campaign consequences reports if they run new adventures (again, once that system is properly set up).

Finally, the only authorised way of getting LFR adventures at the moment is to set up an event (either Public or Private Play) and download them from the sanctioning system.

The current plan is to move to a system where adventures are available from an alternative source (possibly the LFR Community group, if a file-storage module can be added to the site's software), with Public Play tracked in the sanctioning system, but Private Play untracked.

Incidentally, you can GM without being a co-ordinator, and there's no real reason the co-ordinator even needs to be at the event, if he trusts you to collect RPGA numbers so that he can report the event, so if he's happy to carry on doing the formal co-ordinating, you needn't jump through any of these hoops.

I hope that helps - more discussion of some of these issues in the LFR group.

Thanks for all the information.  I successfully reactivated my account.
