| #1burnabyMar 25, 2009 19:19:37 | Hi, My name is Juan Salazar and im an organizer from Chile, i sanction recently de PH2 Game day. The thing is that the materials for the event never arrived here on time like years before and i havent been able to get any straight answers here. Everybody was really excited about these event, and as i have a small comunity of miniatures skirmish and DMs this brought a lot of dissapointment among the comunity, afecting my image as a retailer. Plus a lot of people ask permission on their jobs not only in Valdivia but in other cityes around the south who were willing to travel long distances for these great event. Well im still waiting for an answer for the DMs and players about when the sets will arrive, if we will have indeed the next game day in may, cause there are two universtities and institutions wich i have spoked for mass difusion of roleplaying games and i need to know when to locate them in the next months. So all comes to three questions: ¿Would the material be here soon(when)? ¿Who can i talk to in the states to have straights answers about this? ¿would we be able to make the game day of the monster manual in may or in the near future? Well thats pretty much it, thanks for the support wizards provides, if you need any information or someone wants tu contact me you got my mail. Greetings from Chile! Edit/Delete Message |

WotC could really do a much better job in making this clear. If you received the marketing material for the event that was shipped out a month before hand, then the actual gameday kits will likely show up eventually, although I have heard stories of some people having to pay import taxes (I think it was a Brazil group). If you never received the marketing material, chances are that the kits themselves are not coming. That said, when you sanctioned the event, a PDF including all the material was made available for download. Many groups around the world use these. If you have specific questions or want confirmations, the Wizards Play Network people would probably be the ones to talk to. |

Alternatively, the dci@wizards.com address is the appropriate contact inside Wizards Organized Play for both North and South America, so they should reply to your message! |

| #5burnabyMar 26, 2009 10:59:15 | Thanks a lot guys!. So we make things clear i have done the last two game days here in Valdivia and things got here on time perfectly years before. I spoke with the people in charge here in chile, but things werent absolutely clear to them as how would it be managed this year. With my former experiencie i thought that everything was going to be alright, the thing is that i had to assume things wouldnt make it very late on the date (like one week before the event) so its complicated to cancel an event so expected by rolpeplayers. As you probably know, its not easy to mantain roleplaying gamers in a country that doesnt have a lot of difusion on the subject and even in some places its still satanized. Thats why im trying to get answers for the players, theres still a lot to be done in my side, thats why in need straight answers as well so i can be prepared in advance for any inconvenience. Thanks again for your help, now i know how to make things right ;) |

When you create the event in the DCI/RPGA system you get access to pdf copies of the maps, adventure, instructions, and characters. Of course it means you don't have miniatures to give out to the players, which is obviously a problem, but at least the game can run! Good luck! |
