| #1TalwynorAug 16, 2008 16:32:36 | Can I run the Dungeon module Heathen as a LFR game? How many points would it be worth? How did you arive at the asnwer? (I seem to remember reading about this but can't find it again ) |
| #2TalwynorAug 16, 2008 16:51:41 | AHA! Found it when looking to shcedule my Event...listed under D for Dungeon-Heathen, rather than H for Heathen. 2 points! |
| #3pedrAug 16, 2008 17:13:46 | Note that Heathen cannot be played as a Living Forgotten Realms game. Heathen can be played as a sanctioned RPGA game, and earn players RPGA reward points, but no character can earn Living Forgotten Realms GP, XP, or equipment from playing Heathen. You can only earn those things for LFR characters by playing Living Forgotten Realms adventures, or Living Forgotten Realms adaptations. If you do not have something downloaded from the RPGA which explicitly says that it is a Living Forgotten Realms adventure or adaptation, playing that adventure cannot give LFR rewards to LFR characters. There's no LFR adaptation of Heathen, as far as I can tell - so far the only adaptations which have been announced are for the adventure in the FRCG and for the first printed Forgotten Realms adventure, the name of which I have forgotten. They are not out yet, as far as I can tell, but when they are you'll be able to download a document from the RPGA site which describes how to adapt the adventures for LFR play. |

| #5hennebeck_dupAug 17, 2008 2:57:13 | This is a similar question so I thought I would ask it here. What about the Official H1 Keep on the Shadowfell? That is adapted for FR in Dragon. And can you explain more about how to score it for players but not for the characters? |
| #6kithranAug 17, 2008 8:28:05 | This is a similar question so I thought I would ask it here. As far as I know none of the H series adventures are being adapted for LFR. And can you explain more about how to score it for players but not for the characters? Basically playing an RPGA event and reporting gains the GM points for the GM reward program and the players points for the player reward program. Thus it is possible to report a game of Heathen or Keep on the Shadowfell and gain points for the various programs however as neither have a Living Forgotten Realms adaption neither can be used to gain XP or gold for an LFR character. | #7hennebeck_dupAug 18, 2008 7:03:12 | So my group would have to start brand new first level characters if they want to gain XP and gold in official LFR games? |
| #8pedrAug 18, 2008 7:13:35 | Yes. All LFR characters start at 1st level with 0 XP. They gain XP by playing LFR adventures, and only by playing LFR adventures. The advantage, of course, is that you can play LFR adventures anywhere in the world or over the internet, with a wide range of people. The campaign rules are there to make sure that when you sit down with five other LFR players you've never met before, you've all come from the same starting-point. |
| #9kenobi65Aug 18, 2008 21:26:54 | All LFR characters start at 1st level with 0 XP. They gain XP by playing LFR adventures, and only by playing LFR adventures. And, just to make it absolutely clear: Adapting Keep on the Shadowfell into the Forgotten Realms does not make it a Living Forgotten Realms adventure. |

I'm guessing that by the same token, characters from the adapted adventure sfrom the FRCG and The Sceptered Tower of Spellgard will not be "LFR" characters as well? |
| #11smerwin29Aug 24, 2008 7:47:40 | I'm guessing that by the same token, characters from the adapted adventure sfrom the FRCG and The Sceptered Tower of Spellgard will not be "LFR" characters as well? The adventure in the front of the FRCG is already adapted for LFR play and ready to order. It is called ADAP1-1 Barrow of the Ogre King. You can play it with legally built LFR characters for LFR credit. Scepter Tower of Spellgard is being adapted as we speak, and it too will be playable for LFR credit with your LFR characters. Also, there will be a Dungeon magazine adventure written by Sean Molley adapted for LFR play. More information will be released when those latter two adaptations are ready. Shawn LFR Global Admin |

Sweet - here's another crazy question to throw into the mix: Do these adapted adventures have tiers of play for lower or higher level range characters within them like the normal LFR adventures? Can you "play up" Scepter Tower of Spellgard? |

Can you "play up" Scepter Tower of Spellgard? Until we see the adaptables, its hard to say, but I'd assume not - based on the way Eyes of the Lich Queen was adapted for Xen'Drik Expeditions play. With that, the adaptation was some (fairly minor) story tweaks to fit the XE framework, as well as the addition of a few story objects that could be tracked for the characters. Oh, and the questions that XE used to keep track of how much gold/xp each character was to receive. |

Can you "play up" Scepter Tower of Spellgard? I think not. The adaptation of the FRCG adventure "Barrow of the Ogre King" is for levels 1-2, and does not have a high or low tier. It does have scaling for 4 or 6 characters. Shawn LFR Global Admin |
