How long to add venues?

How long does it take for a venue to be added once I've provided the information? I mean, I've submitted both a public venue (FLGS) and a private venue (my home.)

How long does this take? Until they are uploaded or whatever, I can't schedule, sanction, or order anything.

There's a great guide in the DCI section about how to get a location approved. Since I can't improve upon it, I'll settle for linking to it: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1092941

It's my understanding that getting a new location added takes about 2 business days on average.

Since it's at the bottom of that thread, and the details in the first post are now out of date, here's the link to the form in the Customer Service system which will send the information directly to the WPN people http://wizards.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wizards.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php?p_prods=1005,1021,1074,1128

You need to already be registered as a WPN organiser/Herald-level RPGA GM.

Yeah, I just added that for completeness -- I imagine the information here isn't that helpful to you if you've already sent that information to the WPN people.

You shouldn't have needed to submit a private venue, and you shouldn't have to wait at all to sanction Private Play events.

All Herald-level GMs are permitted to sanction private play events without providing any venue details. It is only WPN/public play that needs pre-submitted venues. If you are a Herald-level GM and you cannot sanction Private Play events there is an error with the way your account's set up and you'll need to get WotC to fix it. Email them at www.wizards.com/customerservice

If the Email Us tab there doesn't work for you, follow the instructions in this thread: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1133626

(Again, much of this info for completeness sake and the benefit of anyone else reading this thread!)

Part of this is my fault - part of my problem is that when I submitted a new public venue, I used the wrong DCI number, so I need to get that fixed. But to schedule private play sanctioned events, and to be able to order the adventures, etc., don't I need to have my private venue?

Not according to the new policy - and the entire reason for splitting the database into WPN and Private Play.

The new policy is that Private Play can be ordered on the same day as play, without having to give WotC any venue information at all.

You should be able to click on "Event Sanctioning", click on "Dungeons and Dragons" (not "Dungeons and Dragons Wizards Play Network"), choose Event Type "D&D Private Play", click Next, click Next again, choose a date, click Next, select one or two adventures and scroll to the bottom, click "Add/Remove Selected Adventures", click "Next" when the page reloads, and click "Submit" to create the event.

Then click "My Events" on the right-hand menu, make sure "Dungeons and Dragons" (not "Dungeons and Dragons Wizards Play Network") is selected, click "Search", click the Sanction Number of the event you just created, scroll to the bottom, and click the link for the adventure you want to download.

If any of these steps are not possible, WotC need to fix something on your account. As far as I can tell, that should be possible for every Herald-level GM.

Well, it wouldn't let me order anything. And, when I called customer service (which was very helpful, by the way), they discovered that my home zip code was NOT in their database, so my home venue couldn't be added. They had to put my zip code in the database.

But, it's all good now - I have one of my 2 public venues available (the other should be available in a day or two) and my home/private venue is available.
