I am wondering how long on average does it take to get the rpga card/application in the mail from emailing the dci@wizards.com for one? Is it like a 3-7 day shipping type thing or like one of those warranty shipping deals with 3-7 weeks? Also do you get an email telling you they shipped a card to you? I would like to know as I am planning to run some LFR games with my home group that I play with every Saturday. Someone else is running a game at the moment and has a week or two worth of game left. was hoping I would be able to run LFR as our next game but that will mostly depend on shipping time and all that. Also once I get my number and get signed up and take the herald test and all that, can I sign a friend up online or would I need to order more cards from the email?

I've seen it vary greatly, actually. I think that, as a rule, they send out new membership card packets every few weeks, and they just collect requests until that next mailing comes around.

That said, if you send a note to Customer Server (http://wizards.custhelp.com) and stress that you need membership cards by a certain date it *can* help speed the request (though nothing is guaranteed).

Also do you get an email telling you they shipped a card to you?

Not in my experience, no. However, submitting a ticket to customer service will get you some tracking info and an e-mail when the issue is marked "solved" so that's the next-best thing

You can run the events without the players having RPGA numbers if you keep the tracking forms and fill in the numbers later. It creates a little more work, but is better than not playing, IMHO.

There is a method for someone who wants to order/run events to sign up online and receive a membership number - but it ONLY for use by (future) organizers (like yourself).

There are no online registration forms intended for use by players.

thanks for the info WolfStar76, I did the method for event organizers and can now happily gm games. I do however have a new question. My account membership now says RPGA D&D- GM Herald. Now the question is can I play in a RPGA D&D game using this account number?

Absolutely. You use the same number as both a player and as a GM.

Okay cool, was just wondering because I couldn't seem to find any place to input character info. Can't wait to get online then and play some games for a change.

It will appear after your GM enters the information from your first game.

However, if you will be playing 2 rounds with the same PC, you might want to use the "cheat code" to enter the character first: https://webapp.wizards.com/mycharacters.aspx

Note that you will need to be logged into the membership area for this link to work.

Thanks for the link, I was also wondering since I just recently got in a bunch of the DCI cards in recently. Do my players technically need to send in the tracking forms via mail or can they just click on personal info and input all the same info from there and not have to send it back through the mail?
