| #1krownhunter07Mar 16, 2009 16:50:50 | I'm currently about to run RPGA adventures around the Grey Vale. I am a RPGA member and have used it to DL the adventures in that section of FR. The problem is, my players (wife and 2 kids) aren't. So how do I submit them? I really don't want to just cancel the events (I'm not sure if I'd get in trouble doing so). Thanks in advance. |
| #2CoarseDragonMar 16, 2009 17:28:43 | I can not answer that but you may want to post this question in the RPGA section. (I guess you could have them join RPGA.) |
| #3mudbunnyMar 16, 2009 20:19:18 | I will bring this to the attention of the RPGA VCL, and will aslo get this thread moved to RPGA General. |

To report the table, accordingly, you'll have to get everyone an RPGA/DCI number. No need to worry about trouble for cancelling a session - unless you're constantly ordering and cancelling sessions, nobody's going to notice. The other issue you may run into will be that a legal RPGA session consists of 4-6 players (plus the GM). If you only have 3 players, your table won't be able to be reported. ![]() |
| #5krownhunter07Mar 17, 2009 12:33:14 | Thank you all for the info... Next question; How can I go about getting everyone a card w/o going to a convention? As to needing four players... I can fix that easy enough. |
| #6CoarseDragonMar 17, 2009 13:22:09 | This may help. Bound to be plenty of sanctioned events in SoCal. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga/membership/welcome |
| #7eleranMar 17, 2009 13:50:09 | Thank you all for the info... If you write to RPGA, sorry I dont have the addy handy. They will send you blank membership sign-up forms and you have your players fill them out prior to the start of the session. Mail the membership cards immediately. When you run the session make note of everyones RPGA number and use them to submit the session online. Depending on your frequency of play their names may not auto-attach to the numbers for a few sessions, but they will eventually. |
| #8gc1ceoMar 19, 2009 1:29:50 | They send you a booklet of approximately 25 when you request, that should be more then enough for most tables. |
| #9kenobi65Mar 19, 2009 9:17:55 | If you write to RPGA, sorry I dont have the addy handy. Info on how to get membership cards is in the RPGA FAQ thread, which is stickied at the top of this forum: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1081073 Hope this helps! |

If you only have 3 players, your table won't be able to be reported. That is something that has always bugged me about RPGA/WPN however. Is there any reason that a home game has to have 4 minimum players (plus GM)? Why isn't like, 2-3 legal for home games? |

Why isn't like, 2-3 legal for home games? My guess would be because they'd need to put in a separate set of coding in the reporting system to handle that possibility. Being able to run a home campaign as an RPGA-sanctioned event is a fairly recent phenomenon (within the past 3-4 years or so), and, really, the only benefit was that players and DMs would accumulate Player Rewards points (with which you could earn cards, which you could then use in RPGA campaigns). Now that players don't get points for play anymore (only DMs do), I wonder if the attraction will decrease. |
| #12zombiegleemaxMar 22, 2009 21:45:41 | Now that players don't get points for play anymore (only DMs do), I wonder if the attraction will decrease. Huh what? When did this happen? |
| #13kenobi65Mar 22, 2009 22:00:01 | Huh what? When did this happen? Beginning of this year. Details are here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga/rewards/welcome |
| #14zombiegleemaxMar 22, 2009 22:10:48 | Thanks. *reads* Um, so why be a RPGA player now? If the DMs are the only ones that get bennies? |
| #15WolfStar76Mar 22, 2009 22:12:43 | Thanks. So you can play all the free RPGA adventures - such as those in the LFR line. If your interest is only in the occasional Game Day, or published mods and the like - there's less purpose for it. |
| #16kenobi65Mar 22, 2009 22:53:35 | If your interest is only in the occasional Game Day, or published mods and the like - there's less purpose for it. Note that RPGA players will still get access to the Rewards cards twice a year, as PDFs. And, the nice part is, now, everyone will get access to *all* of them. But, yeah, I agree...if all you are doing is playing a home campaign, there isn't much incentive for you, as a player, to be in the RPGA. (Though, to be honest, there never really was a huge incentive in that case...) |
| #17zombiegleemaxMar 23, 2009 0:23:28 | Then, how hard would it be to adjust Home Game reporting to not require that all players be RPGA members, or even need to report players at all on those? Seems like a lot of book work for our home game if it's not helping them too anymore. In fact, why have to report players in retail events either, in particular when they are not getting prize support like Magic players do, for instance. I don't know... seems like there might be an easier way to run the system. |
| #18pedrMar 23, 2009 2:48:44 | Also, my reading is that once a year, everyone who is enrolled in the programme will get something, so long as they updated their information. The something may not be useful to them as a player, but it is a reward exclusively for RPGA players. |
| #19WolfStar76Mar 23, 2009 8:48:25 | Also, my reading is that once a year, everyone who is enrolled in the programme will get something, so long as they updated their information. The something may not be useful to them as a player, but it is a reward exclusively for RPGA players. This is correct - the plan, as described at DDXP, is that everyone enrolled in the DM Rewards program (and everyone who was in the Player Rewards program has been auto-enrolled) who has their contact information up-to-date will be getting a "RPGA DM Exclusive" published adventure anually - just for being current in the program. |
