So we've filled in all the RPGA cards we were sent after I passed the GM Test, do we then send them collectively to RPGA, sorry if this is a stupid question, me and my players are in the UK, is there a UK version we send them to instead perhaps?

Then what happens, do we await some sign to say that the cards have been registered or can we start to play RPGA scenarios and enter the card numbers now? If we have to wait for the cards to register then can we play RPGA scenarios ahead of time and then register the results afterwards, only 4e has got all my old players back together again, and dying to get playing.

Sorry if a lot of this is frustratingly simple for you, it's just the information is hard to find on the site.

Have a wonderful day.

Once you have numbers, you all set.

Order and play an event. Report the results. When you type in these numbers, because they are new you'll be prompted to provide the first and last name for each of your new players.

Once you hit "submit" their accounts are active (they'll be able to login using the default password of WA98055). After hitting submit you'll see their names in the system. Click Verify Results and you're done*.

It's still recommended that you mail in the cards, however, for record keeping and the like. However, each user will be able to login and setup their name/password/address/etc at that point.

--------
*For added difficulty, but extra reward - once you've hit "Submit" but BEFORE you hit "Verify Results" you'll have activated your members, but the system will not have generated "Rewards Points".

This gives your players a window of time (until you hit Verify Results) to sign up for RPGA Rewards so they can get credited right from their very first game.

If you skip this step, no harm done - they can still sign up for Rewards, they just won't get credit for this particular game.

PLEASE NOTE - I've heard it said that if your players check the "Don't contact me" box on their cards they will NOT receive reward mailings either.

And, just to be clear, regardless of where you live, there's only the one snail-mail address to send the cards in to.

There are also no problems putting all the cards into a single envelope and sending them en-mass. Also if you (or anyone else) is going to Gen Con UK I'll be sending off all completed cards filled in there after the con so you can always hand in completed cards at the RPGA desk there (or get a card if you are in need of one).

Can anyone confirm this or elaborate on it? Some of my players will be most unhappy if this is indeed the case.

If you tell a company that they cannot send things to you, they cannot send things to you, by law.

How you get this removed, I don't know, but I suggest that your players contact customer services. http://wizards.custhelp.com

I wouldn't worry about it too much. WotC has never sent me anything but RPGA rewards in the 8 years I've been signed up to their program. No emails either.

I just got back from working RPGA HQ at GenCon, and the more I talked with the people in the know there, and listened to them explaining the signups, the more I feel comfortable confirming it.

However, as CdrcJsn said, having that box UN-checked has never let to the RPGA sending me random spammy e-mails. I think they simply take the over-protective step of viewing their rewards as marketing, and therefore won't mail you marketing as per your previous request.

That said, an e-mail to customer service (http://wizards.custhelp.com) seems to be all it takes to get rewards mailings if you DID select the "don't contact me" option.
