Even if you discount the Living campaigns which RPGA used to "host" that were actually using other companies' products (like Living Arcanis or Living Spycraft), if you go back a couple of years, there was Living Force and Living Death, in addition to Living Greyhawk. So I dont see a Living Eberron. I can see a similar Eberron RPGA like in 3.5 It does seem likely that some sort of Eberron-based campaign is going to be announced at DDXP. But, I agree that it may well be closer to the "D&D Campaigns" model that the 3.5 Eberron campaigns followed (with level bumps and a more limited number of modules). |
| #4KarmaInfernoJan 05, 2009 11:18:08 | At one point the RPGA had running simultaneously: Living City (Forgotten Realms) Living Death (Masque of the Red Death gothic horror) Living Force (Star Wars) Virtual Seattle (Shadowrun) Living Verge (Alternity) Living Spycraft (Spycraft modern espionage) Not sure if Living Greyhawk was running yet at that time. Other living campaigns under the RPGA aegis in the past: Living Arcanis (Arcanis campaign setting) Living Jungle (D&D Tarzan! With talking animal-men!) Living Earthdawn (Can't remember the actual campaign name) Kingdoms of Kalamar (Kalamar campaign setting) Bronze Head (Not sure what this was, I think it was modern fantasy) I might have missed a couple. I don't count Mark of Heroes/Xendrik/Green Regent cos they aren't "living" games. -karma |
| #5kenobi65Jan 05, 2009 12:19:10 | At one point the RPGA had running simultaneously: When I started up with the RPGA at GenCon in 2001, most of those, including LG, were indeed active (I think Living Verge had ended by then, and I don't think Living Spycraft had started yet). Living Rokugan (Legend of the Five Rings) was also going at that point, IIRC. Other living campaigns under the RPGA aegis in the past: Bronze Head was d20 Modern. I'm not sure if it was a Living campaign or not. I'd also add Living Dragonstar (D&D in space!) to that list. But, one thing to note is that many of those campaigns, while sanctioned by the RPGA, were actually run by other groups (in many cases, other game companies, though some, like Living Death, were "member-run"). RPGA doesn't seem to have any interest in doing that any more; unless there's a change in their policy, any RPGA campaigns in the future are almost undoubtedly going to be RPGA-run. |
