If you see an adventure that does not incorporate published errata, then you certainly can change the adventure to reflect that errata. In cases where errata is published after an adventure is released, it is highly unlikely that a new version of the adventure will be uploaded into the ordering system to replace the old one. DMs need to be careful about changing monster stats as they may have been adjusted for EL away from what is in the MM deliberately to create an appropriate challenge. In the case of the skill challenge DCs, we set DCs as to what we think is appropriate for the particular challenge and skill. The DM should not just change them to match a generic list. If the DM feels that the DCs are too hard or too easy for a particular group of PCs at his/her table, they may lower or elevate the DCs slightly to adjust the challenge to the appropriate level. Unfortunately, WotC generic recommendations went from being originally too hard to too easy. Setting the DCs too low results in the skill challenge being nerfed and the PCs just walk through it. | #5krystalshieldOct 30, 2008 15:59:37 | I was told before DragonCon that for skill challenges DCs for adventures should be left alone, but that the 3 failures should be implemented immediately. Beyond that, the RPGA guidelines are quite specific that the most recent rules/errata are to be used. |

That's harsh. |
