| #1tacroy7Oct 07, 2008 12:19:29 | I know right after gencon that the tracking pages / numbers for RPGA was all sorts of messed up. So I decided to wait a bit and lets things settle before wading back in and trying to make sense of the mess. Today was that day, and I'm still rather confused. I assumed that under my "play history" once I selected Dnd I would see the games I have played, at least for LFR. However It says "No rating history with this brand." I've played games at gencon (are those reported yet) as well as a local gameday (3 games there) and I don't see records for any of them. Am I looking at the wrong place or is there a bigger issue? Possible bigger issue, my number only has 8 numbers. I know I need to add a "1" under the new system, so I login with the new +1 number. However, the number listed on my profile page has a 5 in front of the 1 I added in front of my original number. What number am I supposed to use to report? My original, my 1 in front or this random 51 in front number? Thanks! |

Either of the latter two choices is fine (1xxxxxxxx or 51xxxxxxxx). Personally, I've started using my 10-digit RPGA number, if only to fill in all the spaces on a tracking sheet. Your mileage may vary. |

I played in a few mods at GenCon and haven't seen any of that activity reported in the tracking system yet. Is this normal? No, that's not normal, but it's a known problem. GenCon events haven't been reported yet; if you dig around on these boards a bit, you'll find a dozen or more threads touching on the topic. Fundamentally: the RPGA system was merged with the DCI system immediately before GenCon. Unfortunately, as the system was initially set up, when whoever would go to enter the event activity went to do so, they would have to enter the entire day's events at once -- for GenCon, that'd mean literally hundreds of tables each day, and that simply wasn't feasible. My understanding is that a fix has been implemented, which allows for the person entering information to "save their work" partway through entering a day's information. And, with that, hopefully, the GenCon info will be entered soon. I seem to remember reading an estimate of "by the end of October", but I may be mistaken. |

However It says "No rating history with this brand." "Play History" is used for games like Magic which have matches against individual opponents. It isn't used for D&D. To see your RPGA play history, choose "My Events", then leave all the search fields blank and click on Search. Unfortunately, there is no way to see which adventures you have played or judged at each event, which is particularly frustrating for large events like conventions. It lists all the adventures at that event regardless of whether you played in them or not. Pretty shoddy work on the website's part, IMO. I contacted customer service and the reply was basically "That isn't implemented now, maybe sometime in the future." |
