| #1WickJun 19, 2008 16:13:26 | I am trying to schedule a game day here at the library for July 19, 2008. I am wanting to schedule "KEEPSF4E - Keep on the Shadowfell" and it wont let me. I am guessing it is because of the retirement date: 1/1/2000. Can someone let me know what that is all about? |

It looks like they're only allowing you to "order" Keep as either a Retail event or a Home event (those have retirement dates of 12/31/2011). Not every RPGA scenario is allowed for every type of event; when a scenario isn't allowed for a certain type of event (as in this case), they put the retirement date in the past. |

Do I do it one time for all my players at the kickoff or conclusion, or do I request it for each session we meet? |

As a rule of thumb you report a module when it's complete (since players listed for playing that module won't be able to play that module again). So even though it will take you more than a standard session to play, you can only officially get credit for playing through the adventure one time (regardless of how many times you meet to play it). |

You can count the library as retail. The issue with allowing gigantic adventures orderable at conventions and game days is that they aren't usually appropriate for that type of an event. For example, Keep on the Shadowfell takes most groups between 8-16 hours to finish. The other reason they're not usually appropriate for game days and conventions is that those events usually have "slots" or scheduled periods of play time. Because longer adventures aren't written for a time element, the amount of time spent playing is highly variable. One group could be finished many hours before another one, which creates problems with anticipating a schedule. Retail play right now assumes basically home game play in a public place. Eventually, the ordering category will be changed to more accurately reflect the fact that there are folks that play their home games in public venues outside of retail stores. |

I thought as much, thanks for confirming. |
