I'm just wondering, with the release of the Eberron books, if there is a Living Eberron Campaign in the works, and if so, how to get involved?

Thats a *no* then.

Is there any provision for a player supported living campaigns in RPGA/WPN?

I guess becasue of branding there would have to be some WoTC oversight, but, with all of these new online facilities, it would seem something that is do-able through the community boards right?

Nope.

The notion was experimented with early in the decade, and then abandoned.

Well how about adding "D&D Home Campaign (Eberron)" to the RPGA event sanctioning list. At least then you will be able to differentiate between your own products and homebrew games.

Then you might also get a better idea as to how much use there might be in Eberron RPGA modules.

If you also added Eberron (And Dark Sun or whatever) flavour tips to the LFR Modules, then...

You will see Eberron and Darksun modules as one shot items at conventions and possibly as Delves if they resurrect them. Also look for them in Dungeon magazine.  Perhaps after SoW is complete they may start a Eberron or Darksun campaign there.

Dont count on seeing write ups in LFR modules on how to convert them to Eberron or Darksun.

Actually, that exact place-holder used to be in there (as did a Greyhawk one).  With 4E Eberron materials out there, I'm surprised the placeholder hasn't been added back into the system.  Let me look into it.

As Mithreinmaethor noted, I really wouldn't count on this.  Their intent is that these modules *are* set in the Realms, even if there's a fair number of player options (races, classes) that are playable in LFR which originated in Eberron.

That's a great point, I suspect it was taken out when 4E Eberron wasn't yet available - and it likely just wasn't remembered for re-inclusion.

At Kenobi's prodding I'll poke Chris about this, see if we can't get it put back into the database.

Maybe, while you are poking him, you can also mention that the Star Wars: Dawn of Defiance set of module place-holders is still missing episodes 7 through 9...

Please?

Thanks. That would be great.

I think you're backing the wrong pony on this one. In fact I think it would make a great community building opportunity. With only a little bit of coaxing I bet you could make a great competition, or wiki-filling thing, or for generating 'hype' and support around new setting re-release ('100 RPGA  adventures ready to start you playing!').

For example: I've tweaked RPGA adventures to fit into Eberron, using my knowledge the world (from 3.5 and 4E sourcebooks). It would be great if i could share that with other DM's. I'd love to hack together some Eberron flavour text and setting notes for an RPGA Adventure. After all, the encounters characters and the general plot would stay the same. The background is all that needs changing. Making the local temple soverign host. The various business liscenced by or run by a dragonmarked house. Throw some noir into the world description: 'what was once a bustling adventurers town is now run down, the war and easy travel to XenDr'ik.....'

You could choose from the best of them for each module. Or if too many submissions - get them voted on by the community, give some prizes, kudos, whatever. From a marketing perspective it will get people signed up into the WPN, or using other aspects of the community site. I guess some form of moderation would be needed, but not much more than you're already set up for.

Personally, unless they are being knitted into a Living Eberron type story, or limited to one interpretation per non Living setting, I'd let them be set whereever they want. After all, a necromancer story in the caves in the Eldeen Reaches vs a Necromacer story in the Cogs of Sharn. You could set some kind of overall equivilences for relams vs Eberron/Dark Sun whatever geography. My guess is that that would require extra moderation, and the possibly of a cogent living narrative comeing from the interpretations.
