Magic Items

When reporting for a D&D Home campaign, how do I go about reporting a player aquiring a magical item? There's no place to do so on the reporting form so thus far I've simply been reporting the value of the magical item as part of the GP amount.

Also, how does this differ for an LFR event? I've not actually run one yet, but likely will soon and I'd like a heads up as to what I'm going to need to jot down at a session in order to have all the information in one place when it comes time to report.

If you're reporting a home campaign, there's really no way for you to report magic items gained, etc. (In fact, I wasn't even aware that the system tracked GPs! If so, that's something new.)

Traditionally, if you're reporting a home campaign for RPGA points, all you're doing is reporting the RPGA numbers of the players and GM; the RPGA isn't interested in tracking anything else for a home campaign. The character tracker (which is what stuff like the GP and XP tracking is for) is really meant for RPGA campaigns, like LFR.

For an LFR event, the reporting system will want to know the following:
- Player (and GM) RPGA numbers
- Which LFR PC (number) each player played (and I would have you STRONGLY encourage your players to go onto the system and add their PCs to their records ahead of time)
- XP gained for each PC
- Net GP gained / lost for each PC
- Which "treasure bundle" (found magic item) each PC took, if any
- Which "story awards" each PC received, if any
- Answers to a few questions about events that transpired within the module (typically, things like "what happened to NPC X? (a) killed, (b) captured and turned in to the guards, (c) escaped")

That's a whole bunch more information than the standard session tracking form asks for. Last thing I want to have happen is to forget something on that list and have a PC get short changed by my bad memory. Is there a form or something that comes with the LFR adventure to tell you what the system is going to want to know? If not, I'll proably create my own form just to make sure I remember everything.

Yes -- when you order and download an LFR module, it comes with a special session tracking form, customized for that module. Just fill in the appropriate blanks at the end of your session, and you should be all set for reporting.
