Does anyone know if there are plans for a 4E Master test? Currently there is only a master test for 3.5.

Thanks

I'm certain there will be. As for when, that's a great question - kinda wish I knew who to talk to in order to submit questions for the Master level test like we could with the 3.5e one. I've got some ideas

I believe they are looking for additional 4e and SWSE questions currently. You can submit them via the "Content" link in judge panel.

As of right now we're not actively working on a 4E Master exam. When I last heard from Chris and Ian, they were reviewing the levels and deciding what they wanted to do with the 4E GM program before committing to any exams beyond Herald.

I can't speak to the Star Wars side of things, but for 4E questions you're welcome to submit those through the judge center. I know for a fact that DCI judges and rules advisors have access to submit questions for any game system. I'm not sure whether Heralds have access to submit questions or not. If you do have access, you can go to the Content section of the judge center, and go to the Create tab.

If you'd like to submit questions but don't have access, or you have questions about this process, please contact me and I can work with you on it.

Thanks!

Just a quick question about the Master DM status. What is the benifit. I have been a Harold DM and have just not bothered with the Master level because I don't see the benifit. Please convince other wise!

Theoretically, Master Level GMs might be selected to playtest WotC product, and/or RPGA modules/campaigns.

In practice I haven't heard of this ever happening.

It's likely the reason why Chris is re-evaluating DM levels.

So as I read this there really is no good reason. Other than ones own edification and knowledge that you can pass the test!

I was told Grand Master level was where running a playtest group became a possibility as it's the first level that requires an interview process in addition to testing.

At Master level you gain access to:

Senior GM Point Hoard: As Senior GM for an event that reports ten or more sessions, Master-Level GMs receive 20 bonus GM reward points.

Levels are explained (as of 2003) here.

I don't think I will have anything around here that would require 10 or more sessions. But I can always hope! Then I will worry about the Master Level...
