So I got more membership cards again today. And, just like the last couple dozen times, they went straight into the recycle bin.

Wouldn't it make everyone's life a bit easier if there was a box to check when ordering adventures whether you're likely to need new member cards or not?

(Sorry if this is brought up a lot - I scrolled down the front page and didn't notice any other posts on the same topic.)

It is very random, isn't it.

However, aren't there local groups who could perhaps make use of those cards? Or even people elsewhere in Canada who'd benefit from them (there are often posts here and on regional lists wanting cards!)

If you know anyone going to GenCon send the cards along with them. We'll be happy to collect them at RPGA HQ - otherwise those unassgned numbers will just sit blank in the database forever, sad and lonely and unused.

Hmmm...good thought. I'll be dropping off a stack.

I've found my random arrivals of membership cards are not that random. Generally I get a set before the rewards mail. I also get a set before major events, like World Wide D&D game day.

The last time I had membership cards sent, FedEX couldn't deliver them (my buzzer dosn't work), when I called them and asked them what the package was, they told me that it was membership cards from Wizards of the Cost.

I told them to return them to sender. They told me "You know, we charge the sender for return fare if they are returned"

I told them, "That's fine, maybe that'll teach them not to send me something I don't need."

I wasn't going to go all the way across town to pick them up and a delivery time couldn't be established because my buzzer dosn't work.

They really need to re-think their model of sending membership cards repeatedly to 'EVent Organizers' who basically run with the same 6 players (a 'home group') and don't need them. Maybe an way to request them when needed. As it is, it's costing them a lot of money in shipping and paper waste.

If I do get membership cards, I just give them to my local RPGA group. Just because I DM for a home group, there is a large grop here that can use them (but even the organizer of that group has more than he needs)

I always have a hard time to get more cards. I constantly need them as I run out of cards.

For the first time I finally got 6 stacks of cards.
This should help be enough for the next convention!
