I run D&D at a local shop and was told that i can't organize events because only the shop can. So i let him for a couple months and i found out that he hasn't reported on any of them do i have the right to organize and run my own events as a herald for WPN or do i just have to sit there and do nothing. Also if i can run the events myself he won't give me the DCI numbers i need to report with is there another way to find these numbers( he wont give them there dci cards either).

Um...yeah, that's definitely not how it normally goes. You should be able to order anything you want, and they should have their own DCI numbers...I'm not sure what the point of not handing them out is. Have you tried talking with him and asking why?

As a Herald-Level DM in the RPGA, you have the ability to order adventures and run your own private or public RPGA events. You can order DCI membership cards for signing up players. Players should know their own DCI numbers, and if they do not know them, they can either find out from Wizards Customer Service or get new numbers.

One thing you can do (and should do if what you are saying is true) is report this game store to Organized Play through Customer Support. They can confront this store directly if they are running RPGA games but failing to report them.

On the flip side, the store owner has every right to deny you permission to run events in his store, if he feels that way about it. It seems stupid and needless (why would you turn down dedicated free labour?) but it is certainly his right.

Absolutely. You can only run public events in places that agree to have you. However, those public places do not have the right to use RPGA material that is supposed to be reported and then not report it.

Also, those player's DCI cards/numbers don't belong to the store. They have no right to keep that information from the players.

Unfortunately I've seen a couple stores do this because they wish to keep all the possible DM/ MTG rewards from the events for their own use or sale.

Another potential reason is the store owner/ operator is not aware that as long as the public venue that you order events for is listed as his store, and is tracked with his phone number, his store will continue to get credit from WOTC in regards to his Premiere Store standing and number of new DCI members that are generated, regardless if you or he reports the games.

Just a couple thoughts; hopefully you can get it resolved!

Thank you all for the help i know he won't kick me out of the store and I'm going to talk to him and point out everything that I've found. It should go my way because I'm the only one that's certified to DM and organize besides him.
So it shouldn't be a problem there's also the fact that i bring him customers and profit.
