| #1delrolandJan 14, 2010 7:22:24 | I know I'm burnt out on LFR. I'd really like to see a new campaign crop up here in the near future, preferrably one more in line with Living City, at least in that it had a communal hub rather than having the characters' homes be haphazardly splattered across a giant world map. I've always felt the single home city made the players feel much more attached to the campaign. Plus it allows for more and longer story arcs within that single location, instead of having only one module per region every four to six months like in LFR. Perhaps Dark Sun could be the catalyst for this. |

This could be anything from a "one shot" adventure in Dark Sun (maybe a Game Day style event?) to a Living Campaign, something modeled after the D&D Campaigns (ala Mark of Heros and Xen'Drik Expeditions - with level bumps, a fixed duration, etc), or something new entirely. I would hope that something about this will be announced at DDXP (maybe during Saturday's Member's Meeting?) - but it's probably more reasonable to expect announcements in/around/after March(?) when Dark Sun ships. |
| #3haferkaJan 14, 2010 13:14:54 | I would LOVE!!! to see a living DS.. ... BUT.. it needs regions.. (city states) and battle interactives (like the old greyhawk mods I remember at big cons). I really like the abilty to play LFR mods from any region.. but I want to see special "Interactive" mods at big cons that are restricted by my "personal" region. |

DDXP has an Interactive if I'm not mistaken (As I didn't really do LG, I'm not really clear on what defines an Interactive) I recall reading about it in the events list. So while it may be LFR instead [OP Dark Sun] of it looks like the call for Interactives is being heard. |

Let's look at the settings: 2008) Forgotten Realms: Living campaign (long term) 2009) Eberron: Championship, Delves 2010) Dark Sun: Most likely Delves and Championship, replacing Eberron. Looks to me like the non-Living campaign play will be the setting du année to promote the setting books. |

DDXP has a *battle* interactive, which is not exactly the same as an interactive (no LARP in the battle interactive). |

Let's look at the settings: I would suspect that Dark Sun is going to be the setting used for the weekly D&D Encounters that is mentioned in the files for the WWD&DGD for the PH3... |
