| #1WolfStar76Jun 11, 2009 10:44:57 | Ultimate Dungeon Delve Details This information will also be added to version 1.9 of the RPGA Character Creation Guide, which can be obtained on the RPGA downloads page. Where It’s At The Ultimate Dungeon Delve will be running at select conventions this summer. These conventions are listed below.
Character Creation In order to participate in the Ultimate Dungeon Delve, you need to create a character for it. The character must be created with the Character Builder and must be printed on the character sheet from that program. Use the 22 point-buy system for your character’s statistics. Anything that is a legal option for the Character Builder is legal for play. The character must be 6th level, and can have the following magic items: one (1) 7th-level magic item, one (1) 6th-level magic item, and one (1) 5th-level magic item. In addition, you have 1,000 gold pieces (gp) to spend on additional gear or other magic items. You may purchase a maximum of two (2) consumables (potions, one-use magic items, alchemical items, etc.) for your character. Consumables purchased may not be higher than 10th level. Make certain you bring your printed character sheet with you to the event! We will only have a limited number of stations open for people to use the Character Builder on-site, so you’ll want to ensure you’re prepared for your event. Adventure Play Specifics The Ultimate Dungeon Delve is an endurance test, whereby you and your team attempt to finish a series of 6 encounters without taking an extended rest. Here are the rules for play:
Prizes Teams that successfully complete all 6 encounters within the allotted time will each receive copies of new D&D game product, and will have their characters placed in the Ultimate Dungeon Delve Hall of Fame! Adventure Descriptions There are two adventures for this season’s Ultimate Dungeon Delve. The first, The Lunar Awakening, plays at Origins and San Diego Comic-Con. The second adventure, Fall of the Tower at Windrock, plays at Gen Con Indy, PAX, and Gen Con Australia. The descriptions for each one are listed below. The Lunar Awakening The howls grew louder and louder until one night they were upon us. The myths and stories, they were all true. The primal urges of our people were too strong for the old apothecary's snake oil. But there’s more; more dread I dare say. Someone or something is awaking the victims of these bestial men, to walk the earth again as living dead! How can we stop them? Who can help us overcome the Lunar Awakening? An Ultimate Dungeon Delve adventure for five 6th-level characters. Fall of the Tower at Windrock Floating on an earthmote above a verdant island realm, the enigmatic wizard, Kelleck, once built a magnificent tower as a beacon of hope to the villages of Windrock below. Now, word has reached far and wide that the tower has crumbled, and whispers of the wizard's demise have reached the ears of many adventurers. What has become of Kelleck, and who now will keep the villages safe? An Ultimate Dungeon Delve adventure for five 6th-level characters. |
| #2dnd_brantfordJun 11, 2009 10:50:44 | Where's the Canadian love? ![]() I'm shedding tear right now, its a man tear so you can't see it, but its there... |
| #3soonerpatJun 11, 2009 13:08:22 | I want to use every option that's legal for the delve, but I'm a little confused as to how "legal" all of the sources are that are in the character builder. The character builder includes many sources and a couple of "campaign settings". For example the last update includes beta material from dragon magazines and options from adventures such as H1 and H3... Does "legal" in character builder mean "if it's in character builder and character builder say's your legal, then you're legal", or should you use a campaign setting such as "RPGA_GeneralCampaigns.dndcamp"? Thanks! pat |
| #4WolfStar76Jun 11, 2009 13:34:41 | I want to use every option that's legal for the delve, but I'm a little confused as to how "legal" all of the sources are that are in the character builder. The fully legal options are those listed in the RPGA Character Creation Guide. While the Character Builder team tries to create rulesets that are fully RPGA compatible - mistakes are known to be made. When the 1.9 CCG is in full release I'll try to compare it to the RPGA ruleset for the CB and let everyone know what, if any, changes must be made to the Character Builder file. ![]() In the meantime - it is up to the player(s) to ensure that their characters are fully legal as per the 1.9 CCG (when it releases). |
| #5dragonstar_the_greenJun 11, 2009 23:17:30 | Hmm, I really hope the line "Anything that is a legal option for the Character Builder is legal for play." is exactly how it reads. I *really* want to run my kobold monk through this at Origins. :D |
| #6syrinx_dmJun 12, 2009 12:33:39 | Hmm, I really hope the line "Anything that is a legal option for the Character Builder is legal for play." is exactly how it reads. I *really* want to run my kobold monk through this at Origins. :D Given how the announcement calls out the Character Builder 3 times, I think that this is saying for this 1 event Character Builder trumps generic RPGA rules. Just like how LFR rules trump generic RPGA rules. |
| #7WolfStar76Jun 12, 2009 13:40:50 | Given how the announcement calls out the Character Builder 3 times, I think that this is saying for this 1 event Character Builder trumps generic RPGA rules. Just like how LFR rules trump generic RPGA rules. That would be a VERY dangerous interpretation to make. The RPGA Character Creation Guide is exactly that - your guide to creating character for RPGA events. You'll note that the original news post SPECIFICALLY mentions that these guidelines will be added to the CCG 1.9. That means the CCG 1.9 will still be your OFFICIAL source for what is or isn't legal in the event. As I said before - while the Character Builder team makes an earnest effort to make their RPGA and LFR campaign files match what's in the CCG (I know, because I've been in contact with them about the process) - if there are any discrepancies, the CCG is still what trumps the Character Builder. The end result is that the player is responsible for making sure their character is fully legal per the rules of the event - and that includes aligning with what's stated in the CCG. |
| #8efreet1506Jun 14, 2009 14:17:23 | Just to clarify, are players allowed to take multiple short rests between encounters? |
| #9efreet1506Jun 16, 2009 11:06:09 | I'd like to also clarify if monster races are eligable for player use during the Ultimate Dungeon Delve. Currently it seems that popular opinion suggests monsters are alowed but the Monster Manual is not a legal player resource according to the RPGA CCG. I'd hate to bring my Goblin Warlord only to be told he's illegal. |
| #10drorainJun 16, 2009 11:18:41 | I have a small curiosity. I am going to this with a character, but not a full party. Are there a few tables that will be a PUG, or is this meant to be a complete team that registers together and goes together. I only ask cause I purchased a ticket for an origins slot, but don't have 4 others with me. Thank you! |

I'd hate to bring my Goblin Warlord only to be told he's illegal. Unless the race is RPGA legal per the CCG it won't be allowed. The current CCG does not permit the use of Goblin PCs - so unless there is a fairly drastic change in the 1.9 I would not count on their inclusion for this event. I have a small curiosity. I am going to this with a character, but not a full party. Are there a few tables that will be a PUG, or is this meant to be a complete team that registers together and goes together. I only ask cause I purchased a ticket for an origins slot, but don't have 4 others with me. As per this thread: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1203096 We will be making groups as we can from the single players and partial groups available during marshalling - just like we do with any other event. Origins is our first attempt at this Ultimate Delve, however, so we'll ask that you try to be patient with us as we work out the kinks in the system. ![]() |
| #12MindWandererBJun 16, 2009 13:11:57 | Are you kidding me? The character must be created with the Character Builder, and is level 6? So you must be a DDI subscriber to participate? That's all kinds of messed up. |
| #13WolfStar76Jun 16, 2009 13:27:08 | Are you kidding me? There will be a limited number of character creation stations at the show as well for non-subscribers. However if you ARE a subscriber - it would be well worth your while to make character(s) in advance. I expect that there may be some "lines" around the CB stations - especially Friday night and all day Saturday. Using the Character Builder gives us a baseline by which we can be sure that all characters are measured by the same yardstick. |
| #14WavesterJun 16, 2009 13:58:13 | Just to clarify, are players allowed to take multiple short rests between encounters? Your judge will inform you between encounters on that. Might be one or might be four. Planning on more then one all the time is probably not a good idea. |
| #15bgibbonsJun 16, 2009 14:11:58 | Unless the race is RPGA legal per the CCG it won't be allowed. I am having difficulty understanding the purpose of the sentence "Anything that is a legal option for the Character Builder is legal for play". That's a plain definitive statement that, assuming you're correct, could not possibly be more misleading. I'm not sure how any reasonable player could ever divine that the true meaning is: "You are limited to the approved player resources from CCG v. 1.9 that are also listed as legal options in the Character Builder." Indeed, on balance, entirely deleting that sentence, even without making any other changes to the paragraph, would improve the clarity of that article. |
| #16WolfStar76Jun 16, 2009 16:50:24 | I am having difficulty understanding the purpose of the sentence "Anything that is a legal option for the Character Builder is legal for play". Y'know - I had to go back and RE-reread the release to see where it says CB legal options. I may well be wrong. I'll wait to see if the CCG 1.9 makes it more clear - and if it doesn't I'll poke Chris to clarify. |
| #17sutroJun 16, 2009 18:37:57 | Quick, and hopefully easier, question - Because these rules seem more specific, is it still allowed to take an item from the 7, 6, 5th level allotment from a lower level? (such as a 7th, a 6th and a 3rd) |
| #18WolfStar76Jun 16, 2009 22:47:17 | Quick, and hopefully easier, question - Because these rules seem more specific, is it still allowed to take an item from the 7, 6, 5th level allotment from a lower level? (such as a 7th, a 6th and a 3rd) Unless someone official (like Chris) says otherwise, I'm going to stick with what we've been told before and say - YES. The levels of items you start with are caps. 1 item of not more than 7th level 1 item of not more than 6th level 1 item of not more than 5th level I'll let Chris know I've opened my yap on the subject - just in case I'm wrong and he wants to smack me down. ![]() |
| #19kinevonJun 17, 2009 9:40:18 | IF (and only if) I am reading the character creation rules for the UDD in v2.9 correctly, that Goblin Warlord, if goblin as a PC race is in the CB, is perfectly legal. Heck, you could use a hybrid PC if'n you wanted: In order to participate in the Ultimate Dungeon Delve, you need to create a character for it. The character must be created with the D&D Character Builder and must be printed on the character sheet from that program. Use the 22 point-buy method for your character’s statistics. Anything that is a legal option for the D&D Character Builder is legal for play; this supersedes the “Player Resources” section on page 2 of this document. The character must be 6th level, and can have the following magic items: one (1) 7th-level (or lower) magic item, one (1) 6th-level (or lower) magic item, and one (1) 5th-level (or lower) magic item. In addition, you have 1,000 gold pieces (gp) to spend on additional gear or other magic items. You may purchase a maximum of two (2) consumables (potions, one-use magic items, alchemical items, etc.) for your character. Consumables purchased may not be higher than 10th level. The bolding is mine, but I would take that to mean that anything that would be legal in a default, non-campaign-specific PC, would be a legal option for the UDD. FRPG, PH2 and Scales of War backgrounds Classes and races from Dragon, MM, MM2, PH1, PH2, FRPG, etc. Magic items from all said sources, and Dungeon and various modules. Oughta be some ... interesting ... PCs in play with these rules. |

| #21kinevonJun 19, 2009 7:42:02 | *nods* Despite my (clearly) mistaken interpretation and assumptions before it rather clearly states the the rules for this delve supersede "standard" RPGA Character Creation rules. : ) Bugbear striker might be an ... interesting option. Not quite the right stat bonuses for MC Hammer, but the oversized part remains. A Brutal Scoundrel Rogue using 1d6 daggers or a big mace.... Or a two-weapon Ranger, wielding two large battleaxes. Nasty, really. On another note, how is it possible for a convention to be so small that it can sell out? I have never seen that before, yet the San Diego Comic-Con is claiming tat they are sold out. And I doubt that I will be able to afford the trip to any of the other UDD conventions. ![]() Then again, I would have thought that ConQuest Vegas, being as it is always adjacent, both time-wise ansd space-wise, to GaMA, could have an official presence at it. Oh well, wishful thinking. Marty, Las Vegas resident... |

You win my funny quote for the day LOL (not making fun of you just gave me a chuckle). SDCC is not remotely small. It has over 120,000 people attend it. It sells out all the time because the California fire code only allows so many people inside of the convention center. |

It sells out all the time because the California fire code only allows so many people inside of the convention center. Maybe they need to consider a few economics lessons. If'n you are too big for your venue, find a bigger venue. Unless, for some odd reason you don't want to make more money and/or support more people. "Hi! We re turning away potential customers because we don't have room for them to come in. Oh, and we decided that, even though we could build a bigger facllity, we like it the size it is, even though it isn't big enough for everyone who wants to come to the game." Add more convention space. CES has done it, both in Las Vegas and Chicago. Other conventions have done it. Heck, GenCon moved about 300 miles because the non-convention facilities were inadequate in their then-current location. Ah, well. Don't mind me. I think only 5 occurrences of the UDD, and only one of those outside the USA, is a bit low. Then again, I can understand why, with the special non-standard PC generation rules, the RPGA wants to retain tighter control than with the normal convention delve. I woulda just liked a chance to try out my bugbear ranger. ;) |
| #24gadrenJun 27, 2009 18:10:08 | So, our characters get short rests, but do the players get any? 4.5 hours is a long time. I'm sure people will want/need to take care of various biological urges in that span. |
| #25lorathzJun 28, 2009 1:40:25 | Maybe they need to consider a few economics lessons. If'n you are too big for your venue, find a bigger venue. Unless, for some odd reason you don't want to make more money and/or support more people. Adding more space is something that the San Diego Convention Center is working on. Comic-Con has a contract to stay at that center for the next few years. If it does continue its promised growth, then that contract will likely be renewed, otherwise, they'll probably move to a different location (although where to, I have no idea). As a comic-book retailer in Southern California, I've been watching this develop over the past couple of years (the first time they sold out all four days was two or three years ago) Currently, the dealer floor of the convention center is about 1/4 mile or so just to walk around the edge of it, so it's not like they're in a small location and just didn't realize that they got too big for it. |

| #27WolfStar76Jun 29, 2009 10:49:32 | Anyone know? Is there someone I can email with questions about the Delve in general? I don't know how much was known about this for certain before Origins, but now that I'm back I can tell you it was run as follows: 6 combats. 45 minutes a combat. Once the clock starts - it doesn't stop until the encounter is over, or time runs out. IF you defeat an encounter and have time left over - it is yours (the table's) to use as you please - plan tactics going forward, take a break, get drinks, hit the restroom, etc. If you find yourself only ending encounters with a few seconds left constantly, my guess would be that since your GM is only human he may need a break as well - and if he calls for a five minute break, then all's fair. (There was one example at Origins of a judge having no choice but to stop the clock mid-fight for his own breaktime needs - so it happens). Hope that helps. ![]() |
| #28wbbuchJun 29, 2009 16:02:44 | Sorry for what may seem like a very basic question, but I can't find anything that specifically answers it... Is magic ammunition (Spider Bolt +1) considered a consumable, or can we take more than two? I looked it up on the Compendium and unlike potions, nowhere in its description is the word "consumable" aver used. Thanks. |
| #29sutroJun 29, 2009 16:57:39 | Funny that you mention spider bolts. I packed a few of them with my UDD pre-built characters, as well as the fire arrows. Before the delve started, I specifically asked the head GM over the Delve area at that time if they were usable; after conferring with some people he agreed that since they were not classified as a 'consumable' that they were legal. Now, honestly, I think that this is an oversight that they're allowed (and he agreed!), and not actually something that really should fly in the Delve. But just throwing in my input. -Sutro |
| #30sutroJun 29, 2009 17:01:00 | Here's a separate question for you, Wolfstar: If we were on a team that won in the Ultimate Dungeon Delve, I know that we can't continue to play that Delve (in this case, Lunar Awakening). However, can we play in the new Delve available at Gen Con? (Fall of the Tower at Windrock) As an aside, I'd be happy to play it even if we can't win the super-sekrit award. -Sutro |

I'm playing the UDD at GenCon - I wonder if they'll close this loophole before then? I had some spare gold left over after buying everything I wanted for my character so I sunk it into five of the Spider Bolts +1. Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us, Sutro! ![]() ;) |
| #32WolfStar76Jun 30, 2009 12:04:43 | Here's a separate question for you, Wolfstar: I have no reason to doubt you'll be able to play the new Delve at Gencon/PAX. ![]() I also have little reason to doubt you'll be eligible for prizes. ![]() |
| #33WolfStar76Jun 30, 2009 12:16:35 | I'm playing the UDD at GenCon - I wonder if they'll close this loophole before then? I had some spare gold left over after buying everything I wanted for my character so I sunk it into five of the Spider Bolts +1. I'll poke around on this, but help my addled memory - does the rule about magical weapons automatically returning to their user not apply to ammunition? My "gut" tells me that ammunition (even magical ammunition) IS consumable if that rule doesn't apply, but I'll ask around for clarification all the same. ![]() |
| #34wbbuchJun 30, 2009 17:12:45 | I'll poke around on this, but help my addled memory - does the rule about magical weapons automatically returning to their user not apply to ammunition? On page 232 of the PHB it actually states that there's no such thing as magical ammunition: "Ammunition (such as arrows, bolts or sling stones) doesn't come in magical versions. You can't craft (or find) [it]" The Spider Bolts were actually added as part of Dungeon Magazine if I'm not mistaken. So the PHB really wouldn't address whether magical ammo returns to the user. I suppose I could dig and find the Dungeon article that intorduced it and see what it says. One thing I did find... in the Adventurer's Vault they added Alchemist's potions (fire, frost, poison, etc...) which are listed as ammunition for use in a bow, crossbow or sling, and are listed as consumable. So that's an argument for magical ammunition being a consumable right there. It seems I'm making a case against myself - I really want my Spider Bolts and my healing potions! :P |
| #35WolfStar76Jun 30, 2009 19:15:07 | On page 232 of the PHB it actually states that there's no such thing as magical ammunition: Quite the conundrum! I'll see what I can find out. |
| #36WolfStar76Jun 30, 2009 19:52:20 | According to Dragon Magazine #373 (where the Spider Bolts appear). . . Enchanted arrows, bolts, and sling bullets can be activated and fired from ranged weapons to achieve exceptional results. You must load magic ammunition before you can activate and fire it (spending whatever action is necessary to do so), and it’s used up when fired. When used with powers that target multiple enemies, magic ammunition affects only the first attack roll or target after it’s loaded. In certain circumstances (such as when loading is a free action), the ranged attacker can load more magic ammunition during a multi-target attack if desired. Sounds pretty consumable to me. I have an official query in, just in case, but that might help resolve the issue in the mean-time. ![]() |

Not bad for making my character in about twenty minutes at 1:00 AM. Oh, and we have a spot for you at Gencon, as only four of this team will be going. ![]() |
| #43WotC_TulachJul 02, 2009 0:02:42 | We did have a number of teams (around 10) that managed to beat the Ultimate Dungeon Delve at Origins. Some made it through the first time, and others finished on a second attempt. We're compiling the list of teams, characters, and notes on their play experiences. We should have the "Hall of Fame" up before Gen Con Indy on the web. Congratulations to all the teams that finished, and thanks to everyone that played! A new adventure awaits at Gen Con Indy! |
| #44JRedGiant1Jul 02, 2009 17:40:58 | Is the 45 minute timer running the entire encounter, or only while players are taking their actions? If it's the former, I'm hoping that the DM's are going to be pretty cool people, and not just run out the clock by stalling. |
| #45mog0025Jul 03, 2009 0:26:59 | Anyone who played the UDD at Origins able to confirm that Hybrid classes and monster races are playable for the event? The posts in this thread indicate that they are, but it'd be nice to hear it from someone who was on-site and saw it happen. |

| #48wbbuchJul 06, 2009 9:44:26 | According to Dragon Magazine #373 (where the Spider Bolts appear). . . | #51lucian_ravenclawJul 08, 2009 18:14:27 | Another question... Are we able to use the RPGA Rewards Cards during the Delve? |
| #52HerrbardJul 08, 2009 19:20:59 | I'm no one official, but we were allowed to use them during the UDD at Origins. |
| #53kal_agrimJul 15, 2009 8:44:45 | I believed that RPGA rewards cards could be used in any RPGA game, be it a one off, a living campaign (such as LFR) or a home campaign (as long as it is sanctioned as an RPGA event) |
| #54WolfStar76Jul 15, 2009 10:18:32 | I believed that RPGA rewards cards could be used in any RPGA game, be it a one off, a living campaign (such as LFR) or a home campaign (as long as it is sanctioned as an RPGA event) To date, the only event that specifically says you can't use cards is this year's Championship. At Origins we allowed the use of cards for the Ultimate Delve, and it seems to work out pretty well. ![]() |
| #55kal_agrimJul 15, 2009 10:26:21 | Indeed, the CCG1.9 says "Periodically (see www.wizards.com/rpga) the RPGA issues special cards that can be used in official RPGA games." which is what lead me to believe that they were available for any RPGA event, unless there was a specific ruling against it (and no specific ruling has been mentioned for the UDD), unlike the Champtionship series, which has a specific ruling against it in the CCG. |
| #56lucian_ravenclawJul 16, 2009 16:23:14 | I figured that they would be allowed... just wanted to make sure... My squad is looking to get as much advantage as they can... The at will reroll cards came up and slightly changed the composition of the party, so that all the characters would have access to the cards (meaning Arcane/Divine/Martial only). |
| #57gadrenJul 22, 2009 22:31:44 | Bah, STILL haven't been able to find a team to join at Comic Con online. The joys of going to a con solo. Hopefully my effort in making a character that was potent AND matched my costume won't go to waste. |
| #58Dragon9Jul 23, 2009 9:06:11 | The Spider Bolts were actually added as part of Dungeon Magazine if I'm not mistaken. So the PHB really wouldn't address whether magical ammo returns to the user. I suppose I could dig and find the Dungeon article that intorduced it and see what it says. It was in an Ampersand article and was in relation to the AV2 IIRC. As such it didn't give full rules about magical ammunition. (I know Wolfstar already got the word on these being consumables, but i thought I would just add that tidbit.) |

(I know Wolfstar already got the word on these being consumables, but i thought I would just add that tidbit.) Actually, the compiled issue of Dragon #373 *does* include new/updated rules for magical ammunition (though the original stand-alone Ampersand did not). |
| #60gadrenJul 25, 2009 1:04:36 | Played in the Ultimate Delve today. Both tables for today won (Comic Con's gaming is alot smaller than Origins). It was a lot of fun. I already own all the books, but I figured an extra PHB2 would be good for my group ![]() |

| #62gadrenJul 25, 2009 20:37:39 | Congrats on the wins. Any pictures of your matching costume around the web? Well, there are several in my gallery: http://gadren.deviantart.com/gallery/ (There will probably also be a ton floating around the net that I'm not even aware of, since I had my photo snapped by hundred of strangers at the convention.) ![]() ![]() ![]() |
| #63tancreadJul 26, 2009 9:29:08 | Well, there are several in my gallery: http://gadren.deviantart.com/gallery/ Very nice, I have a Girl Genius inspired artificer as well. Again, grats on the win and nice costume! |
| #64captmdkirkJul 27, 2009 2:18:29 | Lunar Awakening was challenging as a player, and brutal as a DM. I was in a winning group on Thursday, and then judged a UDD table on Sunday (they ran out of time as their characters were specced for incoming damage reduction and not overall damage output). I was a little worried that our Thursday table would time out as well, as I was playing the only striker (half-orc rageblood barbarian). However, our invoker wrecked many of the encounters with radiant damage, AoE spells, and status effects. Along with some luck and efficient play, we managed to score the win with less than a minute to go. Thanks to the Irvine crew for letting us sit in with them; you guys rock! Team make-up: Dwarf battlerager fighter Dragonborn resourceful warlord Half-orc rageblood barbarian Half-elf wrathful invoker Genasi tinkerer artificer |
| #65gadrenJul 27, 2009 12:05:06 | Team make-up: Yeah, I think artificer was the IDEAL leader type for this kind of drawn-out delve. Two free surges and also redistribution of surges among the party = defender does not run out of surges. Also, the ability to recharge magic items made Daily Item powers much more useful (got two uses out of my obsidian steed and my power jewel, AND I got temp HP each time I used them, and I still had one recharge in reserve for the Defender's dwarven armor). And most importantly, with the time limit, damage-boosting is key, and you can't beat magic weapon and static shock (with the master's wand buff) |
| #66lorathzJul 30, 2009 0:17:44 | I played on Thursday and made it through two encounters and almost finished the third before time ran out. Of course, we only had four players, and the encounters weren't scaled down for us, so that was a little more difficult. On Saturday, I played again, this time with a full group of five. It was the three striker, one leader, one defender mix that seems to have done so well, and true to form, we completed the delve (although with only seconds to go in a couple of encounters)! Divine Power for free! (Good thing, too, as after Comic-Con, I'm completely broke...) |
| #67NutationJul 31, 2009 11:49:48 | Yeah, I think artificer was the IDEAL leader type for this kind of drawn-out delve. Two free surges and also redistribution of surges among the party = defender does not run out of surges. I brought in a shaman that LorathZ will remember. The ability to heal two people at once was also quite valuable (though nothing is a tasty as Magic Weapon). |
| #68JRedGiant1Aug 03, 2009 15:24:47 | I played the defender, a warforged fighter specializing in push and prone tactics, that Gadren mentioned above at his table on Friday night. I was also in a losing 4 man Thursday night group with the same character, and a winning 5 man group Sunday using an elvish bow ranger that also had an artificer. The artificer really impressed me. In the Thursday game I felt just mauled - out of surges by the end of the losing third encounter. By contrast, I felt practically indistructable on Friday - I may have been bloodied once. Granted the extra damage provided by the fifth character took incoming damage off the table much faster. Gadren, had a great time playing with you man. :-) |
| #69gadrenAug 03, 2009 20:39:42 | Gadren, had a great time playing with you man. :-) Thanks man. Every defender loves their leader, though I have to admit it's the first time I've been hugged for it, lol! So, at the end of the day, we were still recorded as winners, right? That one fellow (who shall remain nameless) really seemed like he did not want us to get our due, for some reason. |
