| #1SolodanMar 02, 2009 18:18:20 | So there are a few misprints on the character sheets for the PHB gameday. Probably the biggest one is Weapon Focus only giving a +1 bonus on the 3 melee characters (It should be +2 at paragon tier). This is the download version, maybe the print run is corrected (But judgeing from the posters with the incorrect dates, I'd doubt it) How are you going to handle that as a DM? Just ignore it so that the paperwork is easier, the game goes faster, etc, etc or correct the character sheets? 1 damage per hit isn't all that game breaking either way, so I'll probably just ignore it unless the player catches it and wants to correct the error themselves... What do you think? |
| #2telvin3dMar 02, 2009 18:26:29 | Heh. A misprint on the value of a single attack? I'll be glad if people show up at all since the advertising WotC mailed out has the wrong date on it. It showed up at my FLGS and the owner promptly put it up. No one noticed the problem for a couple days. |
| #3SolodanMar 02, 2009 18:32:40 | Its kinda funny since its every single attack power. Not like the barb one where one of the at wills is a number vs AC and the other shows STR vs AC - easily fixable. |

It showed up at my FLGS and the owner promptly put it up. No one noticed the problem for a couple days. At our local FLGS my husband put out the flyers after correcting all the dates. The owner was wondering who had defaced all the flyers until on of the workers told him that it was a WOTC mistake. Apparently they have done this to Magic events too. Isha the Druid |
| #5jeffvMar 07, 2009 10:03:44 | I'm not going to fix it. It's too much time, effort, and hassle for me to go through and recheck the math on everything WotC sent out. I'll probably mention that the numbers might be off to the players, but we're there to play games, not scrutinize math errors. The numbers are off, so be it - it'll take time away from gameplay to fix them all and explain why I had to change things IMO. If we were using these characters for more than three hours I might care more. Besides, it might balance itself out - I wouldn't be surprised if there are minor issues like this in the adventure itself. I've certainly found my share of blips in LFR modules. |
| #6WolfStar76Mar 07, 2009 11:07:24 | If someone wants to post the corrections they see need to be made and we consolodate all those changes to one location (like this thread) I'll probably write down those notes and mention it to the people playing on Game Day - if they want to run with the corrections, so be it. Other than that, not gonna sweat it. |
| #7teraknorMar 07, 2009 17:23:23 | Well, the Warforged BBN has a Paladin 10 Utility spell, the bard has Thunderwave and Eyebite. Those to me are the most glaring issues. Wizards should have just used their own character builder. It may have avoided these things..... |
| #8kenobi65Mar 07, 2009 23:38:35 | Well, the Warforged BBN has a Paladin 10 Utility spell, the bard has Thunderwave and Eyebite. Those to me are the most glaring issues. The Bard is just fine; she's multiclassed into Fey Pact Warlock and Wizard. Can't see a good explanation for the barbarian having that Paladin power. |
| #9KarmaInfernoMar 08, 2009 8:10:22 | Yah, I plan on multiclassing the heck out of my LFR bard, so the answer to "what class are you playing" is "yes". Bards rock. :D -karma |
| #10kenobi65Mar 08, 2009 21:30:47 | Bards rock. :D I absolutely agree. I played the bard in our slot zero of the module today, and loved her. Definitely making a bard as my next PC!! |
| #11UthracMar 09, 2009 15:25:35 | "Scheduled to run in 2-3 hours." is quite a misprint! Local site actual has this scheduled 12-3, 3-6, and 6-9. Hopefully, they'll change this schedule . . . ![]() |
| #12kenobi65Mar 09, 2009 20:18:46 | "Scheduled to run in 2-3 hours." is quite a misprint! Yeah...I don't know what they were thinking, shoving 3 full combats (plus a short skill challenge) into an adventure that's supposed to run only 2-3 hours. It took us 5 hours to play through it in a slot zero yesterday, and that was with experienced players (though, obviously, the characters and powers were new to us). |
| #13VamrocMar 09, 2009 22:18:46 | ARRRRRGH it's spec 1-1 all over again |
| #14kinevonMar 10, 2009 7:30:17 | ARRRRRGH it's spec 1-1 all over again No, but it matches up extremely well to the monthly D&D Dungeon Delves, IMO. Which are rough with 5 PCs, but turn into real killers with only 4. And also add significant time with only 4. |
| #15festivusMar 13, 2009 9:57:09 | After reading the adventure, I had slotted 4 hours for the tables to run, and 5 players only. We should be able to make that. This mistakes on the charsheets burns me a bit. Here is what I have seen: "Squeaks" Warforged Barbarian: Missing Warforged racial power, Has paladin 10 utility power, only has 6 feats listed (I assume the last should be Warforged Resolve). No explaination of some of the feats (what exactly is Warforged Resolve). Why is the character builder not used to generate these anyhow? |
| #16jhuntonMar 13, 2009 10:34:01 | Why is the character builder not used to generate these anyhow? Because these characters were created before the information from the PHB2 was entered into the Character Builder. (According to my memory of side comment made by some WotC employee at DDXP.) |

| #18festivusMar 13, 2009 14:21:35 | Yeah, I thought of that just after I posed.. but still, they could use the test databases I am sure they must have to generate these... if nothing else to eliminate simple errors like not adding in the paragon tier benefit. |

So on a non-intensive run-through (didn't check individual powers): Various: [W] and "STR vs. AC" info not converted on all powers Barbarian: Should have Warforged Resolve instead of Cleansing Spirits Warforged Resolve: Minor Action, Encounter +13 Temp HP Make a save against ongoing damage effect Also: make a save against ongoing damage/effect If bloodied: Regain 8 HP Melee damage should be +10 instead of +9 Ranged Basic: +7 damage instead of +5 Invoker: HP look WAY off; should be 65 instead of 97 unless Insightful Preservation is much better than I think Ranged Basic: +14 attack (not +13) Avenger: Melee basic should be +9 damage, not +4 )unless we misunderstand Melee Training) Other melee attacks should be +9 instead of +8 Ranged basic should be +1 damage, not +4 Roswyn: No errors I can find Paladin: Defenses should be: For: 24 Wil: 24 Melee attacks: should be +10 damage instead of +9 Dragonborn Frenzy unexplained (+2 damage while bloodied) -Mike |
| #21kinevonMar 18, 2009 16:57:54 | Rastiel All his trident attacks seem to be set to do one point less damage than they should, with a 20 Str (+5) and a +3 weapon. 1d8+7 should be 1d8+8, I think. I am also not sure where the extra +5 to hit is coming from. +5 Str, +7 level, +2 proficiency, +3 weapon enhancement = +17, rather than the +22 shown... |
| #22redclock_the_untimelyMar 19, 2009 1:03:08 | Regarding Rastiel's attack bonus: Show DMG page 184 Level (15) + Role, soldier (7) = Attack bonus (22) |
